The New York Times says, "This quiet residential neighborhood stuffed with old houses is the opposite of the happening downtown scene, which might just be its appeal. Those discovering this area, largely through word of mouth, say they love its sense of community while relishing the easy access to downtown. With its eclectic architecture, brick streets, picket fences and lush foliage, the neighborhood offers an odd blend of New England style and tropical sensibility. Despite its residential nature, it is just north of St. Petersburg’s downtown, making it convenient to the city’s booming cultural and entertainment scene. It also offers easy access for out-of-towners, since it is just 20 minutes from Tampa International Airport."
There is a local bus system as well as a downtown trolley that goes to the large Gulf beaches and the major shopping areas downtown and along Central Avenue.
We were spoiled by our recent visit to St. Pete! Linda & Warren were gracious hosts, and we enjoyed sharing their beautiful home. Breakfast every morning was wonderful, and Warren & Linda were happy to give restaurant recommendations and general advice about how to navigate the area. We enjoyed our visit very much and look forward to staying there again in the future!
I really enjoyed my stay and Linda and Warren's beautiful bungalow. Great hosts, great breakfast, an ideal location, and the comfiest bed I ever slept in… what more could you want? I will return the next time I'm in St. Pete.
What a great find in St. Pete - Linda and Warren-the most gracious of hosts. A most interesting home, very personable. Wish we had been able to take them up on Sunday breakfast....next time. Looking forward to heading back! Highly recommended.
We had a wonderful time , Warren and Linda were perfect host. We enjoyed visiting with hem so much. Feel we have made new friends. The room was lovely, very comfortable and private. Our breakfast and Linda's homemade bread were way above anything we expected. Great time , would stay again
Linda and Warren are a very nice couple, stayed in very well and made us feel very well. The house is beautiful, spacious and well decorated. The breakfast, yumyyyy ... was excellent. The company Max and Kevin (the dog) was also enjoyable. Surely, if we return to Saint Petersburg, we will stay in there.
A ver thoughtful hostess . . . Linda went out of her way to make sure I was well cared for during my rather lengthy stay. I felt like a member of the family! It can't get any better than that.
The house was in a great location, just a very short walk to the water and 2 min. ride to town.
We had a very short stay but in that amount of time we were able experience a beautiful home that was tastefully restored. The art work that was throughout the home was a added pleasure.
The room was comfortable and the fridge had a few goodies as well as homemade cookies waiting for us..
Linda was up before us and prepared a home breakfast and a variety of fresh fruit. Linda was friendlily and we enjoyed great conversation. We will return. Barbara
We had a very good time at Linda's beautiful house. She was such a friendly and generous host. The house is located in a stunning neighborhood in Saint Petersberg. Everything is in walking distance. Linda even rented us two bikes to explore the area.
The room is really beautiful and very clean. You even have your own fridge. The breakfast was excellent, especially the Sunday breakfast.
We would love to come back some time and can recommend Lindas room without a doubt. It's the perfect place in St Pete.
The St Petersburg Artistic Bungalow is a gem and Linda is a very gracious host. The home is cute, comfortable, and perfectly located for exploring downtown St Pete, just a short walk away. Linda made sure our needs were met and made an outstanding gourmet Sunday breakfast! We would certainly stay here any time we return to the St Petersburg area.
My second great stay at this wonderful bungalow in St. Pete's Historic NE neighborhood. I love the beautiful surroundings, the attention to detail, the large room, the super comfy bed, the fine company of my host, and the short walk to the bay. I particularly appreciate Linda's helpful suggestions and insights about the area. Great place to stay.
