Peter and I are both artists with our home and studios in 3 buildings ( this guest room is in the downstairs part of Peter's studio) The bathroom with a shower/tub is located across the hall from this bedroom.
If you bring a dog ( we love well behaved dogs!) you may not leave it in your room while you are gone.

Other Things to Note
It's the perfect place if you just need a nice room to sleep in after your days/nights activities.
This room is downstairs in a building that has a large art studio upstairs. We appreciate that you do not wander upstairs alone - but if the timing works we are happy to give you a guided tour! No smoking. Pets are ok, but we must discuss.
This was a comfy room with a nice bathroom across the hall. Just what we needed.
Gayle and Peter are generous, thoughtful hosts. The property is beautiful. We will very much look forward to returning, and I give it the highest recommendation.
It was a lovely experience. Gayle went out of her way to share her beautiful home with us. She was even willing to send left items which is greatly appreciated.
Gayle and Peter's was the perfect balm after a very eventful day!
Although it was a very busy weekend for Gayle she kindly accommodated me on very short notice and it was perfect! I enjoyed a glass of wine while watching evening colors spread over the surrounding hills before the best night of sleep I have had in ages. After one night in the guest room I moved to the Pond House for a blissful day relaxing with the frogs, birds and an occasional visit from Charlie, a sweet friendly dog. Everything is thought of from great lighting in the bedroom to votive candles (and if desired, a flashlight and lantern) to illuminate the pond house. My favorite "ah" moment was walking down the path after returning from dinner accompanied by the flickering lights of fireflies and the sounds of evening song. When an intense downpour occurred in the middle of the night - music on the metal roof - I was cozy and dry inside. The guest room, bathroom and Pond House were well presented. One has to experience time in the Pond House to fully appreciate the beauty of the space, its setting and the many details that make it so comfortable and special. I look forward to returning to explore the trails, sit by the fire pit and visit local spots. The hills, farms, villages and forests of this part in Massachusetts are a joy to experience. Thank you for sharing it.
The reservation was canceled 3 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Gayle and Peter we excellent hosts. We did not spend a lot of time in the room or on the property because we were attending a wedding in the area, but we wish had more time to explore it was very beautiful. The room and bathroom was clean and comfortable and much larger than we expected. We stayed in a posh hotel in Boston the next day and our room at the Hotel was much smaller than our room in Ashfield. If you are looking for a quiet get away this is a great spot. We want to check out the pond house next time!
A perfect experience - the scenery and location were stunning and peaceful, and the hosts were gracious, kind and thoughtful.
My stay with Gayle was my first time utilizing Airbnb, and my experience has convinced me that this is the way to travel. The living space was clean, neat, and beautifully and tastefully decorated. Gayle and her husband clearly put a great deal of work into the house, and this is evident in every aspect of the space. There is a really neat pond house on the property that also serves as Airbnb accommodations. I am eyeing this space for my next stay.
My only regret was not visiting for longer! I am definitely looking forward to returning in the summer months.
To top it off, Gayle's dog, Charlie, is a big presence around the house and is an incredibly sweet and kind guy. He was the first to greet me upon my arrival and would have led me on peaceful and beautiful walks in the surrounding woods if I had had the chance to spend more time around the house. Charlie clearly knows his manners as a good host!
I want to thank Gayle especially for her flexibility. My plans had changed at the last minute, and Gayle was very kind and accommodating about adjusting my arrival time accordingly.
Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

I am an illustrator & my husband Peter is a photographer/painter. We've lived out here for 25 years after moving from San Francisco. Our kids are out of the house - and we decided it made sense to open up our place. Both of us have our work studios here, and I jog & walk daily with our dog Charlie and do yoga as often as possible in town at Shelburne Falls Yoga & spin in Greenfield about 30 min. away, and love to cook. We love to travel, go see music, or movies or can easily spend a whole day laying around reading if we have the time. After many years of living out here with just our family, it's been fun to open up our place and we really enjoy all the interesting people we've had the pleasure of meeting as airbnb hosts!
If you're interested in staying in one of our spaces, we ask that you are a respectful and neat individual. We look forward to meeting you!
