We're native San Franciscans, outgoing, friendly, and love meeting new people from all over the world. We lead busy lifestyles and spend much of my time outdoors.

Guest Access

Guests enter through a safe and locked building lobby door and walk up a few stairs to my apartment.

Interaction with Guests

We are more than happy to provide directions, advice, tips for getting around the city and the Bay Area, or just good conversation over a glass of wine. We have extensive knowledge of the city and will help you plan daily explorations while providing suggestions on the best routes. We'll make you feel very welcome from the beginning to the end of your stay in San Francisco.

The Neighborhood

We're located in a vibrant neighborhood; restaurants are plentiful, beaming nightlife, cafes, pubs, bars, markets, shopping, museums, golf and the beautiful Golden Gate Park all nearby within a short walking distance. There are many Art, Wine, Music festivals in the Golden Gate Park throughout the year. Live performances like Shakespeare in the Park, Opera, bluegrass, etc. San Francisco has monthly events: Fillmore Jazz Festival, Outside Lands, North Beach festival, Union Street festival and the Haight-Ashbury Street festival.

The Golden Gate Park is huge and spreads from Ocean Beach to the other end at Stanyan Street (2 blocks away). Many sporting activities including volleyball, tennis, golf, roller skating, bike rentals and swing dancing on Sundays for the public. It's a great park to explore on foot, bicycle or the park shuttle.

OFF THE GRID - Thursday evenings (Gourmet food trucks) Hours: 5pm - 8pm; (website hidden)%20Haight

From our home, take a short walk to this event for dinner and meet the friendly SF locals. There are 10-15 food trucks gathering in one place offering savory samplings of San Francisco's multicultural cuisine and locally produced homemade foods. Also, LIVE music and ample seating to enjoy the fun atmosphere.

My favorite foods:
1. Chairman Bao - steamed pork belly ($3 each)
2. Curry Up Now - Chicken Tikka Burrito ($8) and CTM fries
3. Creme Brulee ($4)

Afterwards, walk over to the Cole Valley district for a variety of wine bars, cafes and pubs. The hip nightlife is also nearby in the Haight-Ashbury district.

Within walking distance, there is an array of international cuisines to choose from at affordable prices. You name it we've got it.

A few excellent restaurants in our area:

- PPQ Dungeness Crab Island
- Velo Rouge Cafe - great breakfast place, lunch, dinner with Friday Happy Hours and live music
- Pacific Cafe - fresh fish daily, wine offered while you wait
- Hong Kong Restaurant - excellent dim sum
- Beach Chalet and Brewery - amazing ocean views and brews!
- Burmese Superstar
- Q Restaurant
- Okina Sushi (freshest sushi in town)

Other Restaurants -Gluten-free or menu items
- Bistro SF Grill
- Pacific Catch (one of my favorite restaurants)
- Nopalito
- Pica Pica Maize Kitchen
- Saha (Middle-Eastern)

Getting around

Public transportation is literally across the street from my home with easy access to many attractions. Numerous other bus lines just a short walk away. Our location is very easy to navigate, surrounded by public transportation and the many sights of San Francisco.

You can get just about anywhere in the SF Bay Area on the public transit system. Just ask and I'll let you know how to get there.

Bicycle rentals only 4 blocks away. Great way to get around and enjoy this amazing town.

  • Randa was an excellent host! We felt welcomed and at home the moment we arrived. She gave us plenty of space while at the same time being excellent company with loads of great advice about the neighborhood and the city. Her place was well appointed for comfort and utility with a full kitchen at our disposal and very clean. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes within walking distance and we especially liked the easy access to Golden Gate Park with the infinite variety of recreation and cultural resources there. Parking was super easy with a private parking space and easy access. We could not be more happy with our experience. We had a great time and feel that we made a new friend to boot. We would welcome a visit from Randa!

  • Randa's daughter and her dog lucky greeted us at the door. She led the way up to the apt and Randa was there to show us around. Everything was clean and she gave us a space heater to make us extra toasty. Randa was an excellent host and I actually had a few conversations with her which I've never done with a host. Oh p.s go to the velo rouge cafe at least once while you are there. It was less than .5 mi away! :)

  • We very much enjoyed our stay in Randa's appartment. She and her daughter Ashley were great hosts! It was a delight to talk to them both. Her pets are wonderful, especially her cat. We can highly recommend to go to this place. In addition it is an easy bus ride to downtown. On parallel Geary street you will find a wide variety of places to have dinner.

    Response from Randa:

We live an excellent neighborhood with public transportation directly across the street. We're centrally-located with easy access to other great neighborhoods and San Francisco's most visited attractions. We have extensive knowledge of the city and can help you plan daily explorations, going over maps and providing suggestions on the best routes and restaurants. We would be happy to assist you with booking day trips to Napa Valley Wineries, Alcatraz, and many other great destinations.
