Great access, just five minutes off I-5 exit 111, and all shopping and services, yet feels like you're in the San Juans! Fifteen minutes to downtown Olympia, Farmer's Market, yacht harbor.
From the moment I pulled into the driveway...I knew this was a very special place. I feel so fortunate to have been able to stay here. Barbara and Dick were truly wonderful hosts...they have created a magical place. I felt safe, comfortable and did not want to leave! The view is incredible...the beach itself is lovely...their grounds are gorgeous! The cottage is sweet and rustic with everything you need...including a gas stove for cooking in. Thank you for just the best visit...I can't wait to come back!
My husband and I needed a getaway from the SF Bay Area and this was the perfect place to relax.
The cottage is waterfront, all we had to do is hike down a small path to get to the water. There are kayaks and a fire pit to enjoy too! Right along water, we ran into Tolmie State Park and continued hiking.
One day we ventured off into Tumwater and Downtown but we really should have stayed put because there wasn't anything that compared to the beauty and tranquility of this beach cottage.
Barbara and Dick were very pleasant and gave us our privacy. Thoughtful, Dick knew how much I loved Bald Eagles so he knocked on the door to let me know there was one in the tree above! Thank you Dick:)
It was so relaxing,beautiful and quaint that my aunt plans on staying there when she visits her daughter again.
Lastly, there are doors that lead to the deck from the living room and bedroom! This was the perfect place to drink wine,host a small dinner and play scrabble! And we did!
Here are some other details;
-Suitable for no more than 3 adults
-Privacy doors for the living room and bedroom (my aunt stayed in the livingroom and had complete privacy)

Amazing place; had a great time. Everything was exactly as we expected, and then some! It's a quiet and scenic place to unplug and relax, but also quite convenient to Lacey / Olympia. The hosts were equally great and went a lot way to make us feel welcome.
We had a spectacular weekend at Barbara and Dick's beach cottage! It was as quaint, cozy, and relaxing as we had hoped. The cottage was very clean and the information that the Yunkers left us was helpful. The yard was so well cared for and we were pleasantly surprised that we had an even better view than we had expected. When looking out the window toward the sound the water view is completely unobstructed. The state park was just a couple minutes walk away. There we could enjoy walking on the beach, trail running, or enjoying the view. Additionally, the proximity to downtown Olympia was just right for us. We were far enough away that we felt we were in a relaxing, remote environment...yet close enough that we could access it quickly! We had a wonderful weekend and would definitely recommend this home!
Barb and Dick's guest cabin was more than expected, actually. Cozy, super clean and tidy, everything in-its-place, and the surroundings are charming. In the cabin are many old and fascinating paperback books on Pacific NW history. The water-front (accessed by a semi-steep stairs) was alluring and I can see hanging out there in warmer months with a sketchbook, and using the kayaks. (It rained while we were there. And it was January. )
Every part of this experience was wonderful. Our hosts were awesome and the description of the cottage was accurate.
Welcome to Puget View! We live in the log house that shares the property with the cottage and Brittany's Bayside Bungalow, also listed on this site. (We're Brittany's parents :) We love this special, beautiful place and look forward to sharing it with you. We've hosted many wonderful guests over the years, but are new to Airbnb.
Barb's happy when she's expressing her inner artist. Dick, an OSU forester, will help you identify any tree you have a question about. Together, our interests are outdoor-adventure oriented---whether it's bicycling across the country, summiting a NW peak, Kili, or Fuji. Over the last two years we've done a lot of walking/long distance hiking in Great Britain, Europe, Africa, Nepal, Asia. Recuperating now from 250 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail/John Muir Trail in High Sierras---and home to stay. Yay! We look forward to meeting you and providing a beautiful, inspiring place for you to enjoy.
