The space

Your room is comfortable with a nice bed and a cozy reading space. There is also a desk with an office style chair for you to work from. Free Wi-Fi. Clean duvet, sheets, bed linen and towels provided.

Architect-designed bathroom (shared with host) with heated, marble floor. Bathtub and shower.

Modern, well-equipped kitchen, with appliances including a dishwasher. You are free to use the kitchen. Free coffee and tea.

In the living room, you will find a 42" flat-screen tv with cable and multiple channels. Enjoy the cd-collection with classical, folk, jazz and world music, and browse the library of books. Cozy wood stove with glass-front in the living room.

You will have access to the washing machine to wash and spin dry your clothes. Complete your wash on an effective drying rack. Detergent provided.

Your room is in a clean and stylish two bedroom apartment in a charming, 1922 building. Wide cobble-stoned streets with lots of greenery. Large, airy rooms with many windows. Tastefully furnished with designer furniture, contemporary art, oriental rugs and selected items acquired on travels abroad.

Relaxing and attractive inner courtyard with trees, flowering shrubs and two sitting areas. Play area for children with sandbox, swing, small slide and climbing rack. Ideal for chilling out without going too far.

Safe and quiet West side and central location on a one-way street. Within walking distance to the city centre and everything else you might need.

The cobble-stoned streets and the well-preserved buildings have resulted in the area being used as a film set on several occasions. Several parks in the neighborhood (Marienlyst Park, Stensparken, Jessenløkken, St. Hanshaugen), including the number one tourist attraction in Oslo, the Vigeland Park, a comfortable stroll away. Many nice routes for jogging. The famous Frognerbadet, Oslo's open air swimming pool with water slides and several pools is also located in the Vigeland Park. If you are into athletics, you would have heard of historic Bislett Stadium, which is just around the corner. So is a small, local swimming pool where the water is extra warm (32 degrees C/ 89.6 degrees F) on Mondays and Tuesday because of the swimming class for babies.

Wide choice of food shops within a block, including a wonderful French bakery where you can be tempted to grab a delicious breakfast or get lunch and cafe au lait to-go. Feel like dancing? Take a friend for free tango lessons nearby. Drop-in gym with state of the art weights and exercise machines (for a fee) close by. If you intend on using it more than once, I advice you to to become a member for a month for only 299 kroners. Many speciality boutiques (food, flowers, desserts, coffee etc) in the St Hanshaugen area as well as the Majorstua area.

The apartment is located in the fashionable Majorstua area. Check out the shops in Vibes gate close by and end up in Oslo's premier shopping street, Bogstadveien where you will find neighborhood cafes, restaurants and nightlife too. Strolling and window shopping along Bogstadveien for half an hour will get you to the Royal Palace, the National Gallery and other Oslo attractions. However, you can also choose to use a range of public transportation (metro, trams, buses), including direct door-to-door transport to the airport (bus). Taxi stand very close by should you prefer to be driven around Oslo.

You can also walk to the trendy St.Hanshaugen area where a huge park and lovely shops are a stone's throw away. Before you get there, you can browse for up and coming Norwegian designers in Thereses gate and perhaps have a coffee in the area too.

If you are staying long term, we can come to an agreement regarding how often you would like the apartment cleaned and the towels, bed linens etc changed.

No elevator: four story walk-up, but you will be fitter after your stay! Sorry no pets, parties or smoking.
