My 680sf eco-modern coastal dwelling is a unique sanctuary gem within the neighborhood of Seaside. This 1 bdrm 1 bthrm has reclaimed hardwood floors, cathedral ceilings & a light-filled open floor plan. It has a large kitchen, living rm and drafting table/work station with wifi.
This coastal dwelling has been fully retrofitted by myself as a small eco-conscious model for simple sustainable elemental living. It is ideal for individuals and couples who are eco-conscious, mindful, creative and love and appreciate simple minimalist living. This space is my holistic healing + visual arts studio so it is a sacred expression of who I am and how I walk in the world and what I want to offer to my community and people on journey. It is also my meditation and sanctuary space where I rejuvenate and reconnect with myself and loved ones. My intention is to share my home with like-minded individuals who are looking to live consciously, creatively and be inspired by small dwellings that rest gently on the earth, that celebrates beauty, craft, serenity and light. All interior and exterior furnishings and fine art assemblages are hand crafted, designed and built by myself the owner or custom built by local artisans using recycled & reclaimed material. There is a full kitchen with professional Wolf range and refrigerator for those interested in cooking & dining in. The space is creatively vibrant while simultaneously calm and serene with ample natural light filtering in throughout the morning, day and dusk hours. A newly built front porch and landscape welcomes you while the back yard opens to a patio for outdoor dining and relaxing. My home is in the banana belt area of Monterey Bay, a working class coastal neighborhood with great diversity, diverse ethnic cuisine, authenticity and conveniently located right next to Monterey, Carmel & Pacific Grove, Carmel Valley and Big Sur just off Hwy One. The house is only five minutes to Monterey, Carmel and the Monterey Airport. It is half way between Santa Cruz & Big Sur for those traveling up or down the Highway One corridor to LA or SF. There is also a bus line that stops just at the end of my street for easy transportation into Monterey for the day or evening if you are traveling by plane or are not wanting to drive. The house is a mile from Del Monte beach in Seaside and the coastal bike path that can take you into Monterey, Pacific Grove and Pebble Beach for the day. Come and enjoy what this beautiful Peninsula has to offer! Beautiful coastal and inland hiking and bike trails, kayaking, surfing, diving, hang gliding, horseback riding and site seeing- a photographer's dream! Come taste our locally grown food and offerings at various local and independent farmer's markets and stores throughout the Peninsula- local brews, wineries, art & culture.
Guests will have access to the entire house while staying at the Green Coastal Urban Sanctuary- Bedroom, bath, kitchen, living room & computer work station in the dining area. Outdoor dining also an option. The kitchen is stocked with basic cook ware & unique hand-crafted pottery made by family and friends. Laundry & pantry room is not accessible and Guests are asked for photo ID, license or Passport upon check in along with car license info if applicable. This is intended to be a quiet sanctuary space for visitors. No partiers, smoking or additional guests/visitors.
My interaction is minimal with guests, short and sweet, allowing them the space to create their experience as they wish and see fit. My intention is to meet each guest in person, however, I realize this might not always be possible. Early check in hours, 3-5pm, is best for me in welcoming you in person, however, this might not always be possible due to work commitments. I am always available to communicate by phone to answer any questions or needs that you might have before or during your stay. I appreciate communication prior to arrival as to when your exact arrival time will be so we can coordinate logistics and your stay.
My neighborhood is raw, authentic, diverse and humble in nature. It's the working class neighborhood of Monterey, more urban in character yet still neighborly and inviting. I love it because it's honest, real and not pretentious. It has the feel of a city in a coastal town, currently growing and expanding into a beautiful sustainable model for living. It's visually understated, some finding a bit rough around the edges in comparison to adjacent Carmel, however, as an artist, designer and simple person who enjoys simple living, I greatly appreciate, value and see the beauty in this and also beyond this.
There is a convenient public transit just a block from my house that can take you in to Monterey. The Monterey airport is less than ten minutes away and Highway One is just a mile away. I recommend if you have bikes and are avid cyclists to bike into Monterey and Pacific Grove from my house. You will experience the Monterey Bay in an intimate way along the coast, amongst the Cypress and Eucalyptus trees. Getting around is easy!

Tracy's place was super comfortable! The light-filled sanctuary was perfect for morning yoga and meditation! She was very friendly & accommodating as we arrived pretty late. We highly recommend her place. It's truly an unique home with wonderful artistic expressions.
We loved our stay at Tracy's place. Our 1 year old did make baby proofing a requirement but it only took about 7-8 minutes to do it. An inspirational space with unique treatments everywhere you look. We'd stay here again for sure.
Loved it! A beautiful space. No problems at all with our stay. Would definitely recommend.
The Green Coastal Urban Sanctuary was such a wonderful place to stay. Artist and Designer, Tracy Parker has exceptional, sophisticated taste. The interior design and decor was inspiring and rejuvenating. There were all natural materials such as wood and stone and then neutral colors and shades of white, making it feel very spa-like. We got great rest in the comfortable bed.
We had a wonderful stay at Tracy's amazing urban sanctuary. Tracy was a very gracious host. We will definitely be staying again and will recommend this to others. Thank you Tracy for opening up your place to us!
Tracy's house was exactly what I was looking for to get away from a big city. Both tranquil and re-energizing, it made it hard to leave by the end of the weekend.
Beautiful, awesomely decorated, place to stay, quiet area, and overall a wonderful, relaxing experience. Tracy was responsive and accommodating. Definitely a place to stay to get away from the city and just feel like you're at home. Would definitely stay again.
Tracy's property is a winner. She has a true talent for light and design. Staying here left us feeling both refreshed and inspired. We had hoped for a quiet weekend away from the city and had a better trip overall because of how the space positively impacted us. Tracy is quick to respond and a great host. The other reviews are an accurate representation of the experience her space cultivates.
Tracy was accommodating and made sure our stay in Seaside went smoothly. We loved the home she built! The natural light made it a real treat during the day and she crafted plenty of details to amaze us. The house is a piece of art in itself, and that's reason enough to stay!
Tracy's house is a gem in the rough. It was so sweet to arrive to the little eco-cottage, that you can tell so much energy and work had been put into. Both of us were so inspired and awed by everything in the house, from the well design kitchen, reclaimed wood kitchen, beautiful artwork, and the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in! The simple wood designs aided to the feeling of calm and comfortability. My boyfriend and I loved that little eco-house so much that it makes us want to emulate these ideas in our house.
