Barnard is a small village with a post office, 1840 country store, several churches and a cluster of well-preserved homes dating to the early 1800s and earlier.There is a vital arts community served by BarnArts Center for the Arts that brings live theater and music to the town. Max's Tavern at the Barnard Inn is the in place for bistro-style dining. Walking, hiking, cycling are popular here.

The $150 per night rate applies to Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights only. Otherwise rate is $200 per night.
The Fan House asks that guests honor the privilege of being in an historic house and that they respect both the innkeeper and other guests by preserving the silence of the house when all are sleeping. This is a no-smoking house, both inside and out. We also ask that shoes be worn at all times when leaving the guest rooms.
