Lisel was a friendly, gracious host whose house is located in a lovely part of Uppsala--gorgeous nature trails and greenery all around. The walk into town is simple and scenic, and there are many bus lines with stops in her neighborhood. She was a wonderful resource about things to do & see in Uppsala, and made me feel very welcome in her home: she offered yogurt, muesli, & fruit in the morning; maps for the surrounding area; a willingness to answer whatever questions I might have. The room was as described, and perfect for my short stay in the town. Highly recommended!
I really thank Lisel for giving me the home feeling at her place. Peaceful place, comfortable room, lovely cats, good-working bicycle and the mother-like Lisel. I got all kinds of help from her. Even do not want to leave there after a few days. Thanks Lisel again!
Lisel was an absolutely wonderful host. Not only was she accommodating to my short notice request but she also made me feel right at home! I could not have asked for a better host from Airbnb!
The host canceled this reservation 15 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Lisel made me feel very welcome and accommodating considering my late arrival into Uppsala. The room was really cosy and the bed was very comfortable. It was a nice 2km walk to the University where I was attending a conference. The neighbourhood is very quiet and peaceful. Lisel provided me with a great breakfast (bread, granola, fruit, coffee and juice) taking into account my vegan dietary requirements and has a lot of knowledge about the local area especially the nature parks. One of the cats was especially friendly which was a bonus.
Lisel is an amazing host, she gave me all the details needed to reach the house in advance, and during my stay was always very welcome. The house is beautiful, in a quiet location not so far from the city centre, and it is provided with everything you need for your stay. I can only recommend this place to everyone, without pointing any flaws! :)
Listing description is very accurate. Easy to access via bus from Uppsala Centralstation. Very quiet neighborhood and great company.
Lisel, the host, was extremely accomodating and warm. Being an avid hiker, she gave me several tips about trails in the Uppland area and also provided detailed directions (very useful for a first-timer).
I felt very welcome and a hearty breakfast in the morning is simply cherry on the cake. Overall, I really enjoyed the great conversations, cozy home and a very relaxing time at Lisel's place. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in the area.
About the Host, Lisel
I am an easy-going person with lots of books in my book shelf and well used hiking boots in the hall. Travelling for me is exploring different parts of the world, off the main tracks. I have lived a few years in North America so I am fluent in English. I have visited some of the big cities over there. Now, I avoid the sky scrapers and prefer packing my hiking boots to countries far away. Or I use them along trails in my own country. Travelling may also mean meeting people from all over the world, in my own home!. And that is what I like being an Airbnb host. It is nice to share space in my own home. I also rent out to students.
My outdoor interests works pretty good with my job as a biologist, botanist and nature guide. And I try to live as enviromentally friendly as I can.
Hope to meet you soon. Since I grew up in Stockholm and have lived in Uppsala for over two decades I will be able to give information on variuos sights in both cities. Besides my interest in the outdoors and literature I love baking, so the bread and the cereal mix for breakfast is home made of course!
