Wildlife is always present and the creek in front of the property is a great place to view many birds and alligators. Multiple ecosystems are present on this five acre property. There are trails to meander and trees to meet. I taught environmental education for many years and I am obtaining my Sylvotherapy certification. My goal is to share the beauty of nature’s bounty and help people reconnect. I am also a cerified advanced sommelier. I can share native knowledge of flora/fauna and wine!

The space
Five Acres directly across from Big Slough Preserve, Carlton Reserve and Myakka River State Park. Access is 2.4 miles at Myakkahatchee Creek Envrionmental Park. This property is home to Live Oaks, White Oakes, Cabbage Palms, Pines, Beauty Beauty, Wild Coffee, Wild Blueberries and many more. Wildlife visits daily. The main home is a log cabin. Every effort is made to preserve and restore habitat. It is a labor of love and respect in progress.

Guest access
Your bell tent and deck are your personal space during your stay. The fire pit, stock tank pool, outdoor shower and portable toilet are community use. Breakfast is served on the back porch of the log cabin. Social hour is located on the back deck. The simple outdoor kitchen is on the back. Coffee and water are available. Local libations are stocked in the fridge for a suggested donation.

Other things to note
This is camping with beautiful furnishings and most of your needs provided for. This is a green property. We do not run power to the bell tents. Water is available at each site and by the fire pit. Drinking water is available in the outdoor kitchen. The hose water is potable well water. Each tent has solar fans for comfort and solar charging battery packs for phones, lights, etc. Power to charge lap tops is available in the out door kitchen. A certain amount proficiency and a sense of adventure are required for this stay. Florida weather patterns change rapidly. There is wildlife present, including venemous snakes, biting insects, etc. Stick to defined trails and leave the wild spaces to the wild. When you tromp off trail, you potentially destroy flora/fauna and habitat. You are more likely to encounter snakes and insects.

The tents are hot in the heat of the day. Cool off in the stock tank pool, spend time at the beach, visit local attractions, sip something cool. If you need air conditioning consider staying at a hotel. We have many beautiful hotels in the area. There is camping available at multiple state parks close by. Summer can be very warm but there are less people at local attractions.

Burn bans are frequent with drought conditions.

Breakfast and social hour are included. Your host is a sommelier and schooled in all spirits.

Living in a yurt has been a dream of mine. I'm living the dream close to nature and as simply as I can. I have stayed in other yurts and on permaculture farms with air b&b on Hawaii. I enjoy sharing the experiential knowledge that I have gained with those seeking a simpler more beautiful life...whether short term as a guest or guidance in the way of the yurt as a lifestyle. I believe we honor this life we are given by REALLY LIVING!
