This is the guest house behind Carol’s home on a quiet tree-lined street in a residential neighborhood and has many amenities.
The quaint bungalow is decorated throughout with sunny yellow and indigo blue. There’s a cozy bedroom with a full bed, early century armoire and iHome AM/FM clock radio on the nightstand. The living room has an overstuffed queen sofa bed and comfy side chair, craftsman game table with four chairs, 32” flat screen TV and bright whimsy-musical art prints (Linda Le Kinff’s “Harmonia” and Marcus Glen’s “Floating… with the Mojo”) on the walls.
The kitchen is stocked with everything you might need, and if you need anything more, just ask Carol—she is in the front house. There is a Weber barbeque and shaded patio under a pergola with a table and six chairs for dining al fresco.
The bungalow has an electronic keypad door lock, and you will use a secure four-digit number of your choosing to get in—to the yard and the home—no keys need to be exchanged! If you arrive early (before cleaning is finished), you can stow your stuff in the garage and start exploring!
The yard is fenced if you have a small pet. If your pet(s) get along with Carol’s three miniature schnauzers, then there is a pet door for in-out privileges. Aggressive pets will need to be kept on a leash when out of the house. Please check with Carol in advance with information about your pet(s), and please note that there is a security deposit for any pet.

The apartment was lovely. The separate entrance makes it easy for both Carol and us as we came and went during the weekend. Very comfy bed!!
Carol is a charming host and made us feel very welcome from the outset even though our arrival was delayed by a day. The cottage is well presented and very clean. The use of the lockable garage was a real bonus. The cottage is in a lovely neighbourhood with broad tree lined streets; it is in walkable distance to the train and rapid transit stops so is great for getting around.
Lovely little place and we'd happily stay there again.
Nigel & Jill from the UK May 2015
The cottage was used as a writer's retreat for three days. It was clean, private, and charming. Carol was friendly, easy to communicate with, and respected our need for space. Without a doubt, we would recommend this cottage for the central location, cleanliness, privacy, and thoughtful host. As an added bonus, Carol has very sweet and well behaved dogs. No complaints.
Carol was a wonderfully welcoming host. She sincerely wants her guests to enjoy their visit - and we did! She had lots of travel brochures in the cottage which were helpful. The kitchen was well stocked and there were nice little touches - like plenty of hangers and a blender in the kitchen - that made this AirBnB stand out. While the cottage was well-stocked, the furnishings and upkeep were modest.
Carol was a most gracious host and made us feel right at home. She was always attentive to all of our needs, wanting to insure we had a superior visit. She was always warm and friendly making us feel almost part of her family. Carol's cottage was exactly as the description stated. It was clean and well taken care of. The neighborhood was absolutely charming, safe, and great for walking around, which we did daily. Carol's dogs were adorable, well behaved and very friendly. Carol's knowledge of Pasadena and the LA area came in handy as she pointed us toward various places to visit based on our interests. Our month went too quickly to get to see all of her suggestions so it looks like we will visit her again next winter.
Carol was a terrific host! She made us feel welcome from the moment of our arrival, even invited us to join friends she was having over for dinner (her home-cooked chili was delicious!). Carol's bungalow was most comfortable, furnished with everything anyone would need, and met our needs wonderfully. And we also enjoyed her three friendly dogs. If we come to the Pasadena area again, we'll plan to stay here.
About the Host, Carol
I am a native Southern Californian who has lived all over Los Angeles and Orange Counties. I settled into Pasadena to help care for my mother and stayed after she passed. I am a librarian, a volunteer foster mom for a miniature schnauzer rescue organization and am trying my hand at landscape design in my front yard (now that the grass is gone, let the planting begin) which will ultimately be a year-round profusion of colorful blooms and butterflies. The raised garden beds in the back have seasonal vegetables and herbs. Help yourself to the strawberries!
Ask me about public gardens, farmers markets, and bargain hunting at thrift and consignment shops as well as museums, hiking trails and other places to explore.
I want to make my guest's stays as comfortable as my stays at my favorite timeshare/resort on the coast near San Diego. House Rule #1 is to enjoy yourself during your stay.
