Come stay in a secluded, custom-built, luxury log cabin nestled in the woods. Situated on five acres of private forested land in the heart of California’s historical Gold Country, Gold Creek Cabin is only a 2-hour drive from the San Francisco Bay Area and just over an hour from Sacramento. You’ll avoid the Tahoe commute traffic and feel so far away from it all. Gold Creek Cabin (3,500 foot elevation) is 38 miles (61 km.) downhill from Kirkwood Mountain Resort and just 16 miles (26 km.) uphill from Sutter Creek, one of the most popular and well-preserved Gold Rush towns, offering a variety of nice restaurants, antique stores, and unique shops.
Gold Creek Cabin was designed to accommodate two families comfortably:
- 4 bedrooms plus loft, 3 ½ baths
- Three queen beds, built-in triple bunk bedroom, and queen & twin AeroBeds for loft (sleeps 9-12)
- Reading, game and TV loft with skylights
- Large recreation room with fireplace, pool table, dartboard
- Home theater with HDTV flat screen and Bose audio system
- DirecTV HD service and 150+ DVD collection
- Free high speed (12 Mbps) WiFi service
- Large wrap-around deck on two sides with gas grill
- Private balconies off upstairs bedrooms
Enjoy “luxury camping” amenities:
- Gas campfire and Adirondack chairs on the front deck
- Gourmet kitchen with granite counters and stainless steel appliances
- Radiant heating in bathroom floors
- Tankless hot water system for endless hot water
- Two gas fireplaces, instant on with thermostat
- Central heat and A/C
- Full-size washer and dryer in utility room
Guests will have full access to the entire house and property as the owner does not live at the cabin.
Guests will enjoy complete privacy during their stay. Situated on a forested five-acre site, you can't even see the homes of neighbors on the road.
Gold Creek Cabin is located in a subdivision of five-acre lots so the houses are very far apart and not usually visible due to the trees in the Sierra foothills. Volcano, with a population of only about 100 residents, is a small Gold Rush town with a lot of history.
Well maintained house in Amador County. Attractions like Black Chasm Caverns, town of Volcano, Sutter Creek downtown etc. within 30 minutes. Fully stocked kitchen. More comfortable for maybe 6-7 adults and a couple of kids.
Lowermost floor has a decent pool table, non-electronic dart board and a nice music system with a large collection of DVDs.
Reasonable fall back option from the Bay Area if you have exhausted most of the standard weekend trip options.
Wow! I strongly recommend staying at this cabin. The home is stunning and filled with gorgeous solid wood furnishings. Doug made the process of booking very easy. I stayed at the cabin for a weekend away with close friends, and we were very comfortable and happy with our stay.
Highly recommend staying at this amazing log cabin. Celebrated our daughter' 16th bday. The calming, pristine nature of the cabin calmed the group of 7 teens for the weekend. The TLC details of the cabin made all of us want to take care of the cabin. My 10 year old son's mouth dropped when he saw the 3 level bunk bed Add the amenities of wifi, bose home speaker system, pool table, board games, and deck fireplace... kids did not want to leave the cabin!!!
For the the adults sanity, Doug provided great recommendations for activities. We checked out the Potholes and Silver Lake. We also grabbed some ice cream at Sutter Creek. Next time we will need to stay longer to explore the attractions nearby.
Thanks again Doug!
Doug's cabin was beautiful, secluded, well organized and well appointed. We had 11 people staying very comfortably and found the den/kitchen, deck and basement (with pool table and dart board!) great places to hang out and relax.
Doug and the cabin were impeccably organized and made it easy to get our bearing in the area. They even had skewers for roasting marshmallows. Pro move. He sent us a list of activities and amenities nearby. Don't miss the potholes!
We'll definitely be back!
My friends and I really enjoyed our stay at Gold Creek Cabin. The Facilities were excellent. Doug and his family have obviously put a lot of time and care in preparing their cabin. It was a pleasure to stay in their masterpiece.
Amazing! Safe, cozy, three fireplaces (2 inside, 1 outside), tons of space, fun loft, s'mores to boot (with Reeses!), super clean/new, full kitchen, too easy and too fun! Highly Recommend!
PS - We stopped and got meat at the recommended butcher - WOW!
The cabin far exceeded my expectations, it was beyond what my family and I expected. We had a wonderful time. Doug was great about sending us information about the cabin and activities we could enjoy around the area. We look forrward to staying at the cabin again!!!
