Interaction with guests
When guests arrive, Marcia (the host) helps guests get oriented with a quick tour of the neighborhood. Marcia is also present at breakfast and can answer any questions guests may have, as well as give suggestions of where to go and where to eat. Marcia loves hosting visitors from all over the world and from all different walks of life, and to share her beloved colonia and city.
Colonia Guadalupe is one of the most vibrant and funky parts of San Miguel de Allende. The streets are filled with murals and street art. There are boutiques and galleries, including the beautiful Fabrica La Aurora. Nearby are delicious restaurants like Gombo’s Pizza and Via Organica, a super hip smoothie joint, and charming cafes. The heart of the city, the Jardin and Centro, is just a ten minute walk away. San Miguel is a UNESCO World Heritage site, with art and language classes, theater, music and film festivals, hot spring spas, gourmet dining, and much more!
It is easiest to get around San Miguel on foot, but there are many options. The city taxis are painted green and fares around the city range from 35-50 pesos; if you wish to go outside the city the fare increases. In May 2016, Uber arrived in San Miguel. There are still not many drivers, especially during busy times, but it’s another option for guests. Buses to Centro stop at the corner and come frequently. Wedding venues are easily accessible.
