In rural Marlboro, near Brattleboro

A quiet dirt road in Marlboro, about 15 minutes from Brattleboro's cafes, bookstores, and restaurants

A farmhouse with over 200 years of history

An 1803 farmhouse with original woodwork, a greenhouse, sunroom, and a pink heart-shaped bathtub

A place guests come back to

Guests describe it as magical and museum-like, with one returning for a second stay
This 1803 Southern Vermont farmhouse, nestled on a hillside and overlooking a working berry farm, will truly take you back in time. This rustic, unique treasure features original woodwork, intimate gathering spaces, large windows with views, artisanal folk art touches, a (surprise!) pink heart-shaped bathtub, as well as nice bedding and linens.

A perfect space for slow gatherings, intimate retreats, nourishing body and soul, and connecting to the natural world and the land.

The space
This house has three bedrooms upstairs (two double beds, one queen bed), and a double bed downstairs. The upstairs bathroom has a heart-shaped bathtub (!) with a shower wand. The downstairs bathroom has a small, Mexican-tiled shower.

The kitchen is fully equipped with an induction range, pots and pans, utensils, Mexican dishes, and is stocked with coffee, tea, salt, pepper, and olive oil.

The large living room is a beautiful space for gathering. The house also has a greenhouse and a sunroom. There are desks scattered around the house for writing and working, and unique artistic flourishes throughout (this house was lovingly restored by my grandparents, who bought it in 1951).

The house is surrounded by beautiful perennial gardens and overlooks our family's working berry and vegetable farm, and in the summer we have a small farm stand where we sell greens, herbs, vegetables, raspberries and blueberries, fresh eggs, and our own maple syrup.

Note: kids are welcome, but please know that the stairs are very steep, the beds are high off the floor, most of the furniture is antique, and there is no TV. We hope you and your family will respect the historical nature of the house. There is a cradle and a trundle bed available upon request.

This house is old and eclectic and has been lovingly restored by hand by our family; we hope it is a restorative place for you to slow down, gather with dear ones, read, write, daydream, paint, walk, take baths–and whatever else strikes your fancy.

No loud or disruptive partying please; there is a tenant next door and family nearby.

Guest access
You have access to the entire house: the living room, sunroom, greenhouse, laundry, kitchen, and four bedrooms, as well as the front and back yards. We hope you will feel at home here!

Other things to note
This is a pet-free rental.

We have no TV. We hope you enjoy some screen-free time! (Or watching on your own laptop.)
