This Prime Meridian has the perfect balance for short or extended stays. The 8 unit building is located on a quiet tree-lined street but is just a few short blocks away from everything you could want in South Beach; Lincoln Road shopping, Dining, clubbing, jetskiing, or simply soaking up the sites on the lyrical beach itself.
The bulding was given a 4 star renovation in 2006 with top quality applicances, dishwasher, central air etc. EVERYTHING else is brand new as of Dec 4, 2010. We stocked it with everything we would want in a vacation home and then added things we thought others might appreciate (hair dryer, multiple types of blenders) Top quality linens, glassware, comfortable sofa and bed to collapse on after a busy adventure filled day.
In regards to transportation, Miami Beach is operated by Miami-Dade Transit (MDT). Along with neighborhoods such as Downtown and Brickell, public transit is heavily used in Miami Beach, and is a vital part of city life. Although Miami Beach has no direct Metrorail stations, numerous Metrobus lines, connect to Downtown Miami and Metrorail (i.e., the 'S' bus line). The 'South Beach Local' or 'SBL' is one of the most heavily-used lines in Miami, and connects all major points of South Beach to other major bus lines in the city. Metrobus ridership in Miami Beach is high, with some of the routes, such as the L and S alone being the busiest Metrobus routes.
Contact us directly for check in and out times. Technically it's 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. but we're flexible. As long as there's enough time between guests to get the place cleaned and polished you can come and go whenever you'd like. No smoking inside the apartment, there's ample outdoor space if you need.
The reservation was canceled 98 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
As aways, Cornelius is one of the most active, communicative hosts I have ever had. This was the second time that I rented his little condo while studying in Miami, and although there were some issues with the building itself ( that hopefully will be fixed for future guests), his attentiveness really made up for the issues.
I won't go in to them too much, as I assume that the necessary work is being done, and will instead focus on the things we loved about the place.
It's private- the entrance is through a garden, and there is very little street noise apart from when the trash is being collected. The washer and dryer work excellently, and the kitchen appliances are all new. The bathroom has two entrances, one from the bedroom, and one from the main room, which makes for easy access. The closet in the bedroom is ample, and the drawers are perfect. The TV works great, and the mattress is divine.
I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone wishing to stay in South Beach.
Thanks Cornelius for a lovely stay!
The apartment is perfectly located and well cared-for. Is a small apartment, but with everything there is to do in South Beach, we hardly spent any time in the room anyway:)
There is a TV, fridge, kitchen, wi-fi, parking authorisation and all essentials.
Cornelius was very responsive by email.
We could stay 1h after check-out time and we really appreciated that!
The single problem was the water tank: was making a LOT of noises, but I hope that the problem will be fixed ASAP!
I can definitely recommend this place.
The apartment is very well located, a short walk to Ocean Drive with a small supermarket one block away. We could park the car outside the building without a problem (it is more difficult in the evening). We arrived late (our flight was delayed) and we had a problem with an entry code, but after contacting Cornelius this was resolved.
The apartment is small but comfortable, note to English visitors: there is no kettle. The kitchen is well equipped so we have managed to make our tea...:)
We have enjoyed our stay in Miami Beach, soaking the sun and the Art Deco Weekend celebrations!
Very nice apartment, and very clean.
Very good location. It's easy, is located 10 minutes walk from everything. You will not be disappointed. I recommend renting with Cornelius. The communication was perfect. Demand information to the arrival at the apartment. Positive also the possibility to park the car for free. Do not hesitate to rent this beautiful apartment
Our stay in Miami would have been more enjoyable if the weather had been kind but Cornelies's flat was a comfortable haven in the rain. It was quite small and dark but was very well-equipped with a nice kitchen area and comfortable bed.
We appreciated the VOIP telephone and were able to communicate with Cornelius if needed. The apartment was very central to most places we wanted to go. The parking permit was handy and the area felt safe. We walked home most evenings. I would certainly recommend this apartment for either one or two people.
Cornelius was rally Quick to respons to our questions both before arrival and when we were there, superb!
Hos apartment is well located, just 5 minuters to the beach and many restaurannts are close by. Also close to supermarkets, and parking was fairly easy. Also just 10 min walk to Lincoln Road.
We trevelled 2 adults and one child, 2yrs.
Good to have washing machine in apartment.
The things you should have in mind is:
It's a small apartment, not suitable for kids, as there is no place for them the to play, also no real dining area.
The bed is small, hard to fit 2 adults if you don't want to spoon all night, so one of us had to sleep on the couch, which is foldable, but very uncomfortable.
The watertank is making a LOT of noices.
All in all we absolutely recommend this place to couples without children who wants to live in a good location, in a quiet neighborhood, with walking distance to everything in South Beach.
typical adventurous yank who, after half a century and three continents, finally found someone whose crazy matches mine, moved to Brazil but get back to the states as often as possible. Since we're not in Miami that often we enjoy sharing our place in South Beach with others. What else? After five years living in Rio I'm still surprised and delighted by it; unusual fruits I'd never encountered and the tastiest versions of ones I'm familiar with. I miss California wines but the trade off is worth it.
