Interaction with Guests
Your hosts John and Jennifer look forward to greeting you and orienting you to this beautiful, peaceful place. We live here, but you are most welcome to be our guests. Please don't hesitate to let us know how we can make your stay more enjoyable!
Pomfret, Vermont, is absolutely beautiful! Scenic drives all through the hills here, but just 5 minutes to General Store and Suicide Six ski area, and 12 minutes to historic Woodstock, one of New England's most beautiful villages. (Killington ski area is 20 minutes beyond Woodstock.) Woodstock is full of restaurants and shops, galleries, music and theater.
You will need a car to get around.
Please arrive before 9 pm on your first night, and be considerate with noise, as we will be, for you. Please let us know your estimated arrival and departure times, so we can be on hand to greet you and say goodbye. Much appreciated!
As if the charm of simply being in Vermont isn't enough, Jennifer and John's home elevated our experience.
The space was warm and inviting for our winter visit. The master bedroom has great light, not to mention thoughtful amenities (coffee, tea, mini-fridge, trail map, fruits & snacks), a devastatingly comfortable bed, and a perfect couch to soak in the vista. The trails
on their property is great to explore on snow shoes, and the alpacas are a MUST SEE!
As hosts, Jennifer and John were more than accommodating and considerate. They were respectful of our space and a simple delight to spend time with. Theirs is a life you would want to trade with, but I'll just have to settle with the memories and hopes to return another season!
Quintessential rural Vermont. Rolling hills, farms, forest, alpacas. Okay, maybe the alpacas are not so typical, but this is Vermont, land of the quirky.
The room was just right, with views over the rolling green hills. The rocking chair and coach were perfect for curling up with a book. Woodstock is down the road, for restaurants, bookstores and treats, though we preferred the country air and quite. John was gracious enough to get a fire going, so we could enjoy the little chapel.
It was exactly what we wanted.
We really enjoyed our stay! Jennifer and John were great hosts. We felt very at home and welcome :) The room was spacious and clean. We highly recommend walking through their woods. The area of Woodstock is super charming as are the surrounding areas. Overall great weekend getaway and we would love to go back!
This is a magical spot in Vermont - we were blown away when we drove down the drive and had such beautiful views all around us. Jennifer was very quick to respond to our messages and made us feel very welcome. The property is only 10 minutes from Woodstock but you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere - the instructions to get there are very easy to follow.
The room is very comfortable - a huge bed and beautiful views from the windows. There was fresh fruit, tea and coffee in the room and a little fridge to store the delicious cheese you can buy from the Woodstock Farmer's Market. The en-suite bathroom is huge!
If you like getting outdoors, the woods around the house are beautiful and Jennifer has plenty of recommendations for trails and hikes nearby.
This was a wonderful place to stay. The room is spacious, bright and comfortable with spectacular views over a large pasture to wooded hills and peaks beyond. It was a joy to walk on the trails and to visit the lovely small chapel. Jennifer and her husband John are fabulous hosts, warm and accomodating. We appreciated the basket of treats and the coffee and tea fixings in our room.
This large, lovely house is set in an extremely beautiful and quiet location. The rooms are on the ground floor, just off the kitchen area. The bedroom/living room is large with beautiful views over open countryside and mountains. The bathroom is second to none, with two washbasins. Jennifer provided coffee, tea, milk, fruit, cereal bars and blue berries and a warm welcome, and she enjoys meeting new people. Wifi works well.
Jennifer is an amazing host. She greets you at the door with open arms and an open heart. The home is amazing, the land inviting and the energy restful and calm. There are very nice touches- like a fruit and snack basket waiting for you upon arrival, a map of the land for walking, and natural and organic shampoos etc to use while you are there. We LOVED our stay with Jennifer and her husband, thanks for having us!
About the Host, Jennifer
John and Jennifer have lived in Vermont for 14 years, and love the country --the woods, the fields, wildlife and the changing seasons. We have a small flock of chickens and grow most of our own food in a large organic garden. John turns spectacular wooden bowls from the hardwoods on the property, and Jennifer teaches classes on spiritual growth, as well as conducting weddings and funerals. Our grown children live in Maine and California.
