I felt extremely safe. Access to everything you can possibly think of. Warm welcome from Valerie. Absolutely amazing treatment couldn't ask for more. Although Jean was unavailable she reached out to me to make sure all was well. If you are looking for calm and a cozy place, look no further contact Jean and book.
Ms. Valerie was at the apartment to welcome me and show me around the cottage.
We had a beautiful stay at Country Cottage, it was warm and inviting and nothing was too much for Jean or Valerie they are the perfect hosts.
It was very much a home from home experience. The house is warm and inviting and was just perfect for our stay. Jean kept in touch throughout our stay giving us fabulous insight into the area and was always reassuring if we needed anything. The locals are nice and friendly and always willing to help, and the shops or in close proximity if you need any little thing.
The main town area is only a short walk away and it's nice to take in the sea front as you go along.
Even the the local food was gorgeous and freshly served with a warm welcome.
I would most definitely stay at Country Cottage again and it made my time in Port Antonio memorable.
A huge Thank you to Jean & Valerie again. Xx
We stayed 4 nights in Bev's lovely cottage and really enjoyed it. The cottage itself was perfect, we had everything we needed (well equiped kitchen, washing machine, bathroom with shower, small garden, small terraceto enjoy the friendly neighbourhood, cell phone with local number [prepay] and WiFi).
The first day we arrived, Bev and Valerie welcomed us - they are both very lovely and so charming. They just helped us with everything we wanted to know.
We absolutely recommend to stay there to discover Port Antonio or simply to relax a few days!
My family and I were very satisfied with our stay here. It was right in town close to both grocery shopping and places to eat. This is significant if you're traveling with young children like mine. It also makes a difference when you have someone like Beverly making sure you're comfortable. She was just a phone call away and we thank her for that. Port Antonio and the surrounding areas of Portland are some of the most beautiful parts of the country. There are many things to do and places to see. We hope to be back next year.
Bev made us feel very welcome. She was great with communication, and her assistant Valerie met us when we arrived. The cottage was very clean, and we were pleasantly surprised to find WiFi and cable TV! The location is good in that you can walk to several places. The neighborhood feels a little iffy at first, but the neighbors are all very friendly. We unfortunately found Port Antonio to be a little bit run down, and on several occasions found something that had been mentioned in our guidebook closed, which was unfortunate. We were able to walk to a few places we really enjoyed though: Bikini Beach Bar, The Italian Job, and Anna Banana. We were a short drive away from some nice stuff too (we rented a car): Frenchman's Cove, Woody's, Blue Lagoon, and a GREAT hike through Grande Valley Tours. Thanks to Bev for providing us with such a nice home away from home (we enjoyed making breakfast at home and having pre-dinner happy hour on the front porch!) while we explored in and around Port Antonio!
