Description

The Space

Bamboo Heaven Maui is a permitted bed & breakfast, #BBPH (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN), so you can be assured your room is secure for your reservation. Our rooms are unique and inviting with their high, bamboo-studded ceilings and tropical bamboo woven walls that make you feel like you are truly on a Hawaiian vacation!
The 2 private rooms, the Omaomao (Green) Room and the Polu (Blue) Room can be rented together for groups and families, or separately for couples. I also have a fold-out twin bed for an extra guest at an additional $10 a night. Please check for availability even if the calendar shows we are booked, as I do have 2 rooms available.

Guest Access

Our rooms are supplied with linens, towels, beach towels, beach chairs, coolers, iron & ironing board, hangers, blow dryer, shower cap, shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, after-sun lotion, insect repellant, lawn games, dishes, cookware, silverware, utensils, microwave, fridge, coffemaker, kettle, toaster, hotplate, filtered water, composter. Breakfast items include island coffee, island teas, hot chocolate, oatmeal, dry cereal, local fruit juices, eggs, bread, butter, peanut butter, jelly, bagels, frozen waffles and breakfast sandwiches, sausages, bacon, pancake mix, and seasonal fruits from our yard and market. We also have an outdoor electric BBQ grill that you are welcome to use. You are welcome to explore our country yard, pick fruits from our fruit trees, and enjoy our tropical flowers and plants.

Interaction with Guests

I live in this home, but you have your own private space, entry, lanai, and carport. I am a local girl born and raised right on this property. I would love to answer any questions you have about our island, and recommend places to see and things to do. If you like, I would love to pray and fellowship with you, as God leads.

The Neighborhood

Haiku is the neighborhood I grew up in. I love it! It is a small but growing community with still a lot of the old local families I know, and a lot of new neighbors moving in. We have a variety of restaurants from Japanese and Thai to American, Hawaiian,Vegetarian, Mexican, Chinese, Mediterranean, and local. There are 2 grocery stores, a post office, Postal Plus, massage and spa, hardware store, laundromat, doctor, thrift shop, video store, etc. We are the home of Haleakala Bike Company, where you can ride a bike down from Haleakala Crater back to Haiku. We also have our own zipline right up the road. Haiku is on the tropical side of the island, which means beautiful rainbows, flowers and plants, green grass, fruit trees, and cool tradewinds. It is 5 minutes away from beautiful beaches and surf spots, yet away from the tourist traps on Maui! Don't forget to hang with the 30+ turtles that swim to shore at sunset, 5 min. away! Twin Falls with its beautiful waterfalls and pools is less than 15 min. away, if you like to hike. The famous Jaws where surfers ride 30' waves is just 10 min. away! If you love to shop, Paia & Makawao towns are filled with interesting shops, art galleries, and restaurants, and just minutes away from Haiku. Come stay in Haiku, and be among the locals to experience the real Hawaii!!

Getting Around

There is a local bus transit a few minutes away from our home that will take you to every town on the island. However, we recommend you rent a car to save time, and to get to those places the bus does not go.

Other Things to Note

Airbnb does not collect our Hawaii State Tax of 13.42%, so I will need to take care of that when you arrive. If you need anything, please call my home numb(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). Please be aware of time difference, if you are calling long distance.
I do have 3 dogs that sometimes escape from their fenced-in area. Please let me know if you prefer to not have contact with them, so I can be sure they are securely fenced.
