Wonderful, sunny home! Bike to the beach, shopping and restaurants! This is the perfect home base to enjoy the beaches of Sullivans Island, the watersports and restaurants of Shem Creek and fabulous downtown historic Charleston. Minutes to it all!!

Interaction with Guests
You will have the house to yourselves but we will be happy to offer any insight or recommendations you would like!
Old Village is one of the most picturesque neighborhood in the south. Beautiful moss draper oaks, flowers everywhere, lovely old homes, views of the Charleston Harbor and the fabulous Pitt Street pedestrian bridge that jets out into the inter coastal waterway. There is a great bike path over to Sullivan's Island Beach and many restaurants and shops near by.
There is public transportation but I would recommend a car or bike to get around.
Other Things to Note
Be sure to stop by the Pitt Street Pharmacy in the heart of Old Village for a step back in time at the soda fountain. My son says the root beer float is the best.
For a quiet or romantic evening with delicious food, we love the Old Post House Restaurant and tavern, a few door down from the Pharmacy on Pitt Street. It is located in a beautiful area for an evening stroll.
Please let us know if you would like other recommendations. We have an endless suppy!!!
This is a family neighborhood. Couples, families and laid back friends preferred. No loud music or wild parties please. We all get along nicely and would like to keep it that way.
We had a lovely time staying in Paula's home. The piano and the huge yard were a definite plus. Our small dog tagged along for the trip and quickly settled in. Very clean and pet-friendly setup. Paula was great about communicating in advance of and during our stay, and we appreciated staying in a place so close to downtown Charleston and Sullivan's Island. The house has a vintage-y, lived-in, cozy feel, which we were totally comfortable with, but it might not be the aesthetic that suits everyone. Best recommended for families.
We really enjoyed our stay in Paula's home. It was a great quiet place to come back to after a busy day of being a tourist. It was nicely decorated and great for a family adventure. Paula was a pleasure to rent from and we hope we can stay there again in the future.
We had a wonderful stay at Paula's house. She was very accommodating and the house was nice. Kids loved the large backyard. We came to droo off our things and had plans to go back to the city but the kids wanted to play on the backyard so we just stayed in the rest of the day. I would recommend this place to a friend.
Paula was a great host! She was in touch with us from the moment we requested the booking to the time we left. She gave recommendations and did some investigating for us to find names of cab companies in the area. She even offered to pick up some groceries for us! When we arrived, there was pumpkin bread, chocolate chip brownies, and wine waiting for us. She even had a nice little note saying Happy Thanksgiving for our Canadian guests.
The location is great for Mount Pleasant. We were within 5 minutes of restaurants, grocery stores (Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Publix), and Starbucks. It was a ten minute drive to Sullivan's Island and thirty minutes to Folly Beach. We ended up taking UberX to downtown Charleston and it was about $20 each way.
As others have said, it is someone else's house. The only negative is not having a drawer or space in the closet to unpack. This was not a problem for a long weekend, but I could see it being difficult for a longer trip. Other than this small issue, I highly recommend!
Our family really enjoyed our stay at Phil and Paula's home. They are very hospitable people. They were kind enough to leave groceries, cookies and cake for our family. Their location is perfect for Sullivan's island beach, downtown charleston, Shem creek and many other local attractions. They were very helpful with identifying tourist information and attractions.
I would choose this home if you plan on doing a lot of different local activities.
The home needs some minor updating but nothing that would stop us from coming back.
We will return.
This is the perfect location.

The location is pretty nice. The house itself is nicely equiped, however be aware that it is very very furnished: lots and lots of furnitures and clutters. The hosts were very nice: they left cookies and breakfast food in the fridge for us to enjoy!
The neighbourhood is nice and safe.
We recommend it if you don't mind being in their house with their stuff ;)
We had a marvelous stay in Paula's really comfortable and cute home. It was cozy but still had plenty of room for the 5 of us.
Paula left w binder filled with information about the area with maps and brochures that we found extremely helpful. She also left plenty of ways to contact her, in case we needed anything.
The beds were comfortable and the neighborhood quiet. It was literally minutes from everything!
I am a mom of 4 and grand mum of 3. I grew up in Nova Scotia, Canada and moved to the US to go to college more than a few years ago. I work in the travel industry as a tour coordinator and my absolute favorite thing to do is travel! The company I currently work for offers tours to Italy, Spain and Croatia and I am thrilled to be heading off to the Amalfi Coast this fall. Though I love traveling the world, Charleston is my favorite spot. I love sharing this beautiful town with visitors and will be happy to recommend wonderful activities and restaurants for your stay!
