The Space

This is a beautiful bachelor apartment right in the heart of the Byward Market. Surrounded by some of the best restaurants, shopping, and night life in the city, you are minutes away from Ottawa's most iconic destinations. Walk easily to the Rideau Centre and National Gallery in 5 minutes, or be at Parliament Hill, the National Arts Centre, or the Museum of Civilization in only 15. A hub for most OC Transpo and STO buses, you'll get to and from the airport, VIA rail, and the Greyhound with ease.

You will have the entire bachelor apartment, which has a large wardrobe separating the bed from the rest of the space. Perfect for a single in the city or two people happy to share a bed. An eclectic mix of antique and vintage furnishings (with the occasional Ikea buy), you are bound to enjoy the decor as much as the location. With a fully equipped kitchen, eating in or out is completely up to you.

A great location for any season, you're right in the action for Canada Day, Tulip Festival, and Winterlude. Rent a bike and go for a ride on the Ottawa River and famous Rideau Canal. The stunning Gatineau Park is easily reached in a 15 minute drive. A perfect place for renewing American visas, the US embassy is just minutes down the street.

Given the street view of Clarence, the apartment can sometimes be noisy at night. If you're looking for a quiet weekend getaway, this may not be the place for you. Otherwise, pack yourself some ear plugs and get ready to have a wonderful time!

  • Perfect! Thank you Katie for sharing your apartment in the heart of the Market! So many restaurants, cafes, bistros and activity. I grew up in Ottawa and was amazed at how the Byward Market area has come to life in the past 30 years, Katie is an excellent host, the apartment was exactly as described and made my quick four day weekend feel like I was really back at home. The close proximity to downtown and major transit routes make Katie's location an ideal pied-a-terre for the traveller that wants to explore Ottawa as a local. I was able to enjoy that thanks to Katie!

  • Katie's place was super cute, cozy, and clean - perfect for our two-person stay! We thoroughly enjoyed the variety of books and maps that she made available, along with the unique art/decor that decorated her apartment. Location was great, as it was in an excellent spot for getting around to all of the must-see tourist attractions in Ottawa. Katie's honesty, hospitality, and level of communication made our stay even better and her recommendations for restaurants and places to check out were great experiences. Though, we never met Katie, she knows how to make you feel at home!

  • Comfortable and personal space in great location - easy walking distance to everything in the Byward Market area. Katie was great and included little touches to make the stay supportive - thanks again for the earplugs - a must if staying over a weekend.

  • Katie's place was great and exactly as described in both the text and photos.

Her approach was flexible and her home was super comfortable for a brief stint in Ottawa - but I can also see it for a longer term stay.

I enjoyed the proximity to everything and the creature comforts offered.

    Thanks Katie!

  • Katie's apartment was clean and comfy and it is situated in a very strategic place that allows you to be at walking distnace from almost everything worth seeing in Ottawa. katie was very friendly and answered to every single message right away even before booking. Those who actually staied at her place were my uncle and aunt, both in their sixties and really enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this place.

Recently returned from a year studying in the UK, I'm back in the nation's capital working on Canadian foreign aid programs in Sudan and South Sudan. Travelling is a big part of my life, and I love getting to stay in new spaces. It's a pleasure to get to share Ottawa with other travelers and have them enjoy my home. Wherever I am in the world, with good music, good food, and good friends, I can never go wrong!
