Wow. To only have 500 words to express my gratitude, appreciation, love and just epic awesOM happiness from my experience with Shanti and Jai... I feel constrained -- but will do my best... These blessed BEAUTY-full amazing people have the most amazing little slice of heaven on earth!! Nestled right outside Santa Cruz and close to everything you could want as you tour Santa Cruz and into the redwoods -- this is a delightful spot! No question about it... Then there is the surprising bit of magic that is Jai, Shanti and everyone that is a part of Be and Be Well... The work they are doing - the healing - the relief - the relaxing -- the embraces of warmth and heart filled happiness and loving support -- nothing is quite like it!! I cannot put into words the magic that is in this place and how it will affect me for quite some time to come. As is designed. As is meant to be... If you are just traveling through -- this is absolutely a little gem of sweetness a quiet peaceful spot and a great place to stay. If you want to go deep - heal - connect with yourself -- and explore what/where/how you are on this earth and where you are going along your path... You can do that here... Safely -- with love -- guidance -- clarity and support! Listen carefully - take in the words along with the smoothie/breakfast and your trip will be that much better for it! Promise!! The magic that springs forth from this spot is quite inspiring and I will stay wrapped in the warm vibes of sunny sweet loving Jai and Shanti for the winter months and be so GRATEFUL for every sun soaked bit of fun I had wandering through the dappled trees and sitting on the ocean shores of Santa Cruz -- playing eye opening and delightful games -- windsinging and PLAYING... I will return for a future visit... Without question. I also take to my heart the people that were a part of the family and guests that are a part of the heart of Be and Be Well... Others along their own paths of amazing... I feel blessed and blissed from the experiences and the meetings... I look forward to taking advantage of ALL that is offered next time I am back... For now the faerie magic that was blessed upon me will keep me warm and snuggly through the winter months! Thank you Jai and Shanti for an epic heart warming loving weekend! I look forward to returning hOMe in the future!! Blissed and Blessed!! Gratitude beyond ALL words!!!
Shanti was a warm and welcoming host. We arrived to find a very unique setting for our stay in the sacred spaces dome. There was a memory foam mattress on the pullout that my husband and I slept on, and a pod that our 9 year old slept in. She did not want to leave!
Our first morning there we were offered the option of an al fresco communal breakfast with the other guests or breakfast in bed. We opted to dine with everyone under a large shade tree in a lovely garden. We had delicious coffee, fresh strawberries with homemade whipped cream, pancakes and a tasty eggs scrambled with herbs and veggies. Yum! We were offered dinner each night but had other plans with friends.
We had a late start when we had to head home, but Shanti arranged for us to take away a picnic lunch for our 6 hour drive back home. This was lovely and so thoughtful!
Our daughter is already asking when we can go back so she can sleep in the pod again, hang out with Shanti, and see the deer and quail that live in the neighborhood. We look forward to returning to Be and Be Well.
Hi Sava, Jamey and Ellie,
Glad to hear that you arrived home safely! Just got home ourselves from a one week camping trip al fresco to Harbin Hot Springs, wifi and cell phone free... Wow, what an Xperience!
And its really nice to come back home to the WELL and to such sweet email like your review! May the Sacred Space Dome & Pod be your home away from home again when you come back to Santa Cruz!
With love and deLight from the deer and cats and quails and Bruce, the neighborhood watch dog and Kikio the neighborhood pipsqueek queen and Kelly & Amy (yes, they are still here) and Dorrelle and me and Jai who is looking forward to meeting you all next time :-))))))))))))
Jai and Shanti state “Our home is your home when you come and we enjoy making you feel relaxed and comfortable. We are looking forward to connecting with you.” This is a very true statement. I arrived during Shanti’s birthday party and was immediately became part of the family.
Others have made the following comments about Jai and Shanti with which I whole heartedly agree-
- . . . amazing hosts! I was welcomed with open arms and made to feel at home immediately. They were extremely accommodating and gave me my choice of rooms to stay in.
- I contacted Jai & Shanti only couple of days before my trip. Not only did they reply promptly, but I felt an instant connection via the few message exchanges we had. Driving up to their house, on a dark Friday night, I felt there was going to be something special about the place. So it was not a surprise to be greeted with such warmth by Shanti, who made me tea even though it was late, and I immediately felt at home with her and Jai.
The place is a kind of a spiritual retreat/healing & wellness center so there is a bunch of stuff like flotation tanks, saunas, relaxation chamber . . .
Where do I start? I contacted Jai & Shanti only 2 days before my trip but not only did they reply promptly, but I felt an instant connection via the few message exchanges we had. Driving up to their house, on a dark Friday night, I felt there was going to be something special about the place. So it was not a surprise to be greeted with such warmth by Shanti, who made me tea even though it was late, and I immediately felt at home with her and Jai.
Subsequently, the next few mornings (the only free times I had available due to my busy schedule) were filled with not only the feeding of my belly with some wonderful meals but also the feeding of my soul through some wonderful conversations about life and lots of laughter with Shanti, and playing games with Jai and other guests.
The camper I slept in was so comfortable and cozy. After my days that were filled with activities, I always looked forward to coming back to my little temporary abode.
If you are looking for a home away from home, a place to be healed, to spend time in an environment that has been consciously set up with the most beautiful of intentions, an environment conducive to love, fun, and real connection, look no further.
By the time I left, I felt as though I had known Jai & Shanti all my life. And I realize that I have known them all my life - as love, service, grace, and joy. I am looking forward to spending more time in the future with the new additions to my ever expanding family.
While this is going to sound over the top, I had a life-changing experience at Shanti and Jai's place. Now, I was looking for a life-changing experience, so it didn't come out of nowhere - bbut it's always amazing to have your highest hopes met and surpassed.
Their description says it all, so know that Shanti and Jai are two people that deeply care about the people that stay with them, and if you are interested, in assisting your healing process.
The floating tank, detox foot massage, meditation womb - all amazing. What I didn't know ahead of time was that they treat you like friends, not like hotel guests.
We ate meals together (optional- I imagine you could keep to yourself as well). They even dropped me off at a trailhead and picked me up on the other side - with a picnic lunch on the beach!
Big vote YES for the eXperience.
Jai and Shanti were amazing hosts! I was welcomed with open arms and made to feel at home immediately. They were extremely accommodating and gave me my choice of rooms to stay in. There are multiple gardens and places to relax. Breakfast was waiting for me in the morning along with wonderful conversation. I left feeling happy and well rested. I will definitely be back!
Shanti and Jai are inspirational souls who attract like minded people into their lives. They have visionary stories to share of their past and how they found one another. They are generous with their time and advises and attempt to put those who are ready on the healing path. I purchased a package of epson salt floats and the experience from the 6 floats lessened my chronic pain during the floats and best yet,10 days later, I have remained better and have been able to decrease the use of my pain medicine. Stay here if you are comfortable in an open community setting and either need a temporary shelter or to begin the long term work of healing.
Thank you for your beautiful review, Sudee!
We are so happy that our "attempt to put you on the healing path" was so graciously received by you and your body :-) and hope that it is turning upwards from here to new and beautiful horizons!
Did you also receive your night gown? and if you plant the California Poppy Seeds now with a little water and lots of sun, they will be smiling at you in a month or two on the stretches of your healing path :-)
Kind, intelligent, generous hosts. Beautiful hiking and sunsets in surrounding hills. Expanded my horizons through great conversation on many deep topics. Just the experience I was looking for. I will return again!
If i could give ten stars to this place i would!!! I never felt so good in a B&B as here! Shanti is the most welcoming host, the area is beautiful, the place is a dream! You are received as a friend! there is so much to discover! And to talk about! I met Jai as well, he is a very inspiring person! I know I will be back here! Thanks, Shanti and Jai!
First of all, Shanti had told me that I could come anytime and share in the community life of the house, garden, special spaces for meditation and interpersonal exchanges. My dogs were allotted a big fenced garden area for playing and their supper, as I enjoyed a nicely prepared refreshment of fruit and tea.
Our accommodations were incredible...a spic and span "hippie bus" with silk and lace bed covers, all the dishes and utensils for preparing a meal....BUT Shanti invited me into the house with others for a superb group meal of supremely delicious organic home-prepared fare. In the morning, as I was letting "sleeping dogs lie" in the bus, while reading in the serenity of the living room, I was presented with a heaping bowl of hot lovingly crafted porridge, and a tall glass of freshly squeezed carrot juice ( with a bonus beet for color).
Shanti is not only a gracious and energetic host, but she really cares about, and for, her guests.
The Wellness center that she and Jai have established has a multitude of spaces and possible experiences that are bound to lead to a state of more balance and wholeness for all who visit.
I will go there again, and will definitely want to experience the flotation tank.
