Simple, easy going, great service, wonderful wellness tools, no frou-frou but beautiful!
Sweet warm and generous. I felt invited in and welcomed. The room was clean and wonderfully quiet. The home exuded a sacred lightness. It would be lovely to spend more time there.
Jai and Shanti have created an incredible, welcoming home full of laughter and warmth and they invite you in, arms wide open. If you're looking for peace, connection, disconnection, reconnection, exploration or just a wonderful, calming space, this is the place. Communication was great (before, during, after) and every meal was fresh and full of goodness. The neighborhood is serene and beautiful (even, or especially, during the rain). I didn't want to leave and can't wait to go back.
Thank you so much for your sweet review, the pleasure was mutual, you are so deLIGHTful!
You will just have to come back, your soft grey scarf from a soft grey day is still laying on your chair in the Native American Room, waiting for your return :-)
I had a lovely stay. My room was clean and extremely quiet. Jai and Shanti were warm and welcoming, and Shanti made me a delicious breakfast.
Jai and Shanti were extremely responsive when we made last-minute inquiries about staying at their place. Even though it was the night before Thanksgiving, they were very accommodating and hospitable. Shanti recommended several places for us to visit, and we had an absolutely delightful excursion to the big redwood trees in Felton and the butterfly sanctuary in Santa Cruz on Thanksgiving.
The Be and Be Well has a whimsical outdoor space that was really fun for the kids to explore. We stayed in the pleasant upstairs studio and enjoyed a yummy breakfast the next morning of granola, fruit and yogurt as well as pots of coffee and hot chocolate and cups of tea. My son stayed in "the pod" outside and my normally restless kid passed out in the super-comfortable bed.
One of the things I adored at the Be and Be Well was the natural products in use at the house. I'm delighted that they invest in such non-toxic products as Dr. Bronner's soap instead of crappy, cheap anti-bacterial crap. It felt like home!
Shanti is a massage therapist by trade, and I wish I had the time to book a massage from her. At one point in the evening, she said "I'm going to heat up a neck warmer for you" and gave me this incredibly lovely hot compress for my neck. She could tell by the way I held my head that I had neck problems even though she didn't know about the car accident I was in a couple of months ago!
The only glitch with our stay was that the heater, which was being used for the first time this season, didn't start. Luckily, a space heater was hustled up as well as extra blankets and we enjoyed a very comfortable night's sleep.
Wow! My two friends and I had the most incredible time here . Jai and Shanti are the perfect hosts, and if you are open to it, have so much wisdom and joy to share. They have built a beautiful space together and it was so amazing to be able to hang out there. Shanti was extremely accommodating with the lactose and gluten allergies in the group and the breakfast was amazing. Do your self a favor and don't miss Shanti's chai or the Float chamber. We loved our time here so much :)
Great place to stay. They accommodated us very late in the night (thankfully, we got a place to sleep)!! They are great hosts!! Once we told them our plans for the next day, they recommended a few changes which we took and saved ourselves 2 hours of driving:).. As soon as we entered the house, it had a very calming effect on us.. Would definitely stay here again!
We had a wonderful stay at Jays and Shantis place. We met many beautiful people there and our kids loved it very much too. It felt a bit like comming home. Next time we are in Santa Cruz we will stay there again for sure. Thanks for everything Shanti and Jai.
