Stay in the cosy R22 - 1 of 3 bedrooms for rent in this comfortable 1920s house. Our street is well kept with historic, vintage houses, but our neighborhood is on the rebound, and still looks rough in some spots. Personally I love it, with its history, people and stories and consider it "the real Detroit" and "ground zero" for Detroit history since the 60s. Great value and location - only 2.5 - 5 miles from Midtown, Wayne State, Henry Ford Hospital... 3 buses walking distance.

I'll be frank. Decent place. The location is pretty bad. I took about 15 cabs to and fro from the location and all the drivers told me the area was too bad and to take care. Maybe most of the Detroit is like this but the localities warned me of the area. I'd recommend you to stay…

J is great! She responds quickly and informatively and everything is easy and laid out for you. J’s neighborhood may look rough but it has some true charm and the neighbors were kind and accepting. Detroit is a special place for those that are unafraid to see a darker side of soc…

Response from J:
Thank you Luke! Yup. You got it. Also it's important to remember that what happened in Detroit could happen in many places in the US. And actually on a smaller scale is happening in parts of Flint, Baltimore, Chicago, New Orleans, Gary (Indiana), Jackson (Mississippi), Toledo (Ohio), Montgomery (Alabama, St. Petersburg (Florida), Saginaw (Michigan) - and maybe more. Cheers!

Neighbors were friendly. Well located for exploring the city. I recommend staying here if you’re a chill, easy going type of person with an open mind.

J is very informative about everything. If she doesn't have the answer, she'll definitely find out and get back with you. Location kind of rough, but I grew up in a rough area so I was able to adjust.

Wonderful space and amazing host. Communication was on par with a few hiccups here and there but the host made sure everything was kosher in the end.

I'm American, originally from the Midwest, and feel lucky to have a few homes away from home (in Berlin, Germany; Stockholm, Sweden; Detroit, Mi). Thank you for staying with us!
