  • A great place to avoid the big resorts and big $$ of such places. Only 20 minutes from the airport and about the same to the Waimea Canyon. Even the north shore was only 1 hour and 10 minutes away. Accommodations were comfortable, neat, and clean. It was very quit there and the bird songs in the morning were incredible. Access to the island overall was fine and our host was good at pointing out places to eat nearby like in Poipu. Amenities were such that we could cook in here and save more $$ which we did for our breakfasts. Host was friendly and accommodating. Paul & Diane, Connecticut, USA.

  • We just stayed a couple of nights, but really enjoyed this secluded studio. It has everything you need, and a nice covered patio where we enjoyed dinner while it rained. This place is a little off the beaten path, but it's still only 20 or so minutes to the beach. Once in a while you'll hear a car pass in the distance, but mostly you hear crickets, birds, and the refrigerator. At night it's very dark and you can see tons of stars.
Neil was a great host with many tips on what to do and where to go.

  • Neil and Sharon's lower studio was a lovely retreat space. Neil was a warm and welcoming host. The studio was equipped with everything we needed. The land and location were superb--gorgeous views and sunsets, and an easy drive to south shore beaches and sights. We'd love to stay at the studio again!

  • We really enjoyed the studio and the peacefulness of the location, though I would say it's an ocean "peek" rather than an ocean view. Perhaps the view from the unit above is much more (however, the guests staying up stairs were not overly warm and friendly- no dig on Neil/Sharon).

  • This place is WONDERFUL! If you're looking where to stay, just stop looking and book this place. The only thing I regretted about my trip to Kaua'i was that my partner and I didn't stay here the entire time!

We stayed here on the first week of January 2014. The studio apartment is located down a windy dirt road that is just outside of Kalaheo. This part of the island quickly became our favorite and we came back to Kalaheo, Koloa and Poipu when we were staying the on the East side. Waking up every morning to a a symphony of birds was heaven. I really missed that when we stayed in Kapa'a for the rest of our trip. There is so much privacy, even with folks staying right above us. There was a rain storm while we were there and Neil came by to make sure we had everything we needed. After we stayed at resorts and other locations on the island, everything paled in comparison to this place. The next time we visit the island, we will stay here for the entire trip. It was in a good location on the island and out of the way of some of the busiest traffic. I can't say enough about this place, just BOOK IT!

Mahalo Sharon and Neil, you provided us with such wonderful memories and something to look forward to when we come back! Take care!

  • We had a great 4 nights in this wonderful and cozy studio! Neil happened to be on the property as we arrived, and helped us feel right at home in no time at all. It's a great location- in a quiet area but still close enough to easily drive to beaches, Lihue, or other parts of the island. It's a great space that had everything we needed to fix some light meals- toaster oven, portable burner/electric range, and microwave. There was a great evening breeze, so the mosquitoes weren't bad- though one usually found its way into the room while we slept so we tried using the netting over the bed, doesn't match up too well. You can hear roosters in the distance starting in the early morning, so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper- I woke up but my partner didn't :) The outdoor patio is great, there's a washer and dryer, plus some beaching items for your use. It's a great spot, you'll love your stay! Thanks, Neil and Sharon!!

  • Great and quiet location, close to the south side activities. The studio is clean, has good amenities and the hosts are very helpful.

  • This was a great little space close to Poipu, and we'd definitely go back. The property is in a relaxing area that is very quiet. We slept like rocks each night falling asleep to all the crickets.

Neil and Sharon both seem like really nice people as well!

It's worth noting though that there are quite a few mosquitos, bugs, and lizards; on occasion they still find their way into the room. So they bug net over the bed came in handy.

Also, the lower studio doesn't have as great of an ocean view as the upper studio. Up there, it's a perfect view of the ocean with awesome sunset views.

  • We loved it!. Perfect contrast to the busy week in Honolulu to come to this private, small farm - cosy one room studio plus bath had everything one could need - well-equippd kitchenette with full fridge, mocrowave, coffee maker and percolator, hot plate and all the pots and pans plus plenty of oils, condiments, etc left either by host or previous guests meant one could easily prepare nice meals to eat at a cosy round table or out on the deck watching the gorgeous sunsets over the ocean. Bring earplugs if you don't enjoy waking in your big cosy bed beside fully screened large windows to very loud and varied birdsongs in the morning! What a treat!! Of course the neighbours' distant roosters are part of the charm on Kauai! Because the island is so small, everywhere is central for travelling to all the highlights - sunset cruise from Pt. Allen is not to be missed! Waimea Canyon makes a wonderful day or 1/2 day trip, Hanapepe Swinging Bridge and artist community is just up the road... mostly we loved just staying at "home", relaxing in the very comfortable B&B - run by real people who are keen on making sure everything you need is there for a lovely holiday - lots of towels, snorkel stuff available too - very personable host eager to please! Couldn't have been better!

Both love the island, love hearing the varied fascinating stories people live, and both love to read and travel!
