The Space

The Plitvice Lakes National Park is the most famous, largest and oldest (since 1949) national Park in Croatia as well as in whole southeast Europe.
With more than one million visitors each year, this natural monument (added to the UNESCO World Heritage register among the first natural sites worldwide) with its 16 lakes arranged in cascades divided by waterfalls, is a "must see" while visiting Croatia.

I offer a room with double bed and a private bathroom with parking in the yard, 8km from the main entrance to the Plitvice lakes.
My house is located on the main road that runs trough the Park, 2 restaurants are by the house, market 300m, quiet area, great nature. Pets allowed. Fantastic for mountain hiking and nature walks.

The price is per room (2 people). No (third) extra people is possible in one room.
Not suitable if not with a car.
For more people, contact me while I have 4 rooms in total.
Available from May till October.

  • Our room was good. Each room has its own bathroom which was very nice. We were lucky and got the room with balcony, which was really useful for drying clothes after getting rained in all day at Plitvice. Vjekoslav was kind enough to even offer to dry our clothes in his electric dryer. It was a 10 minute drive to Plitvice and only a 5 minute drive to town where you could get breakfast. All in all, this was a great place to stay if you're seeing the falls or other things in the area!

  • The house is located on the main road to the Plitvice lakes which is convenient even if the neighborhood has nothing particular. The room is simple and suitable for a short stay before or after visiting the national park.

  • We had an amazing visit to plitvice! Vjeko's house is placed just about 15 minutes away from the park itself. Everything was perfectly clean and for the price, this is great deal. Vjeko is extremely nice and I really enjoyed talking with him over a delicious cup of old fashioned made coffee. Vjeko even gave us tips for our other destinations. A very nice man that was incredibly helpful anytime we asked for something. Highly recommended!!

  • Vjeko was a very accommodating host, friendly and helpful, and even lent us his umbrella when we went to the National Park as he said it was likely to rain (which it did).

The room itself was clean and warm, with a comfortable bed and a decent shower. The only downside was the lack of wifi – we had to go to the restaurants nearby when we wanted to get online.

Good location, about 10 minutes drive to Plitvice National Park (which was amazing, highly recommended).

  • We spent two wonderful days in Vjeko's house. The house is perfectly situated to visit the National Plitvice Park and close to the few local shops. Our room was basic but had all the necessary equipment for two nights. And we slept very well. Vjeko is a very great host, we talked a lot and get to know him a little better. It's also the perfect guide to discover lesser-known places. We hope to come back on day in his place. Thank you again for your hospitality.

  • A memorable trip is always heigtened by the place you decide to end a day, think about your travels, and close your eyes. Vjekoslav's place near the Plitvice Lakes National Park proved to be the most exceptional place for my quick stay. EXTREMELY easy to find and very welcoming upon my arrival. With the previous help prior to arriving and the advice given to me upon arrival for my travels, I was set up for a successful and memorable trip. The room was just what I needed and was very private and comfortable. I was even able to enjoy some local Croatian dishes and a wonderful time sitting at the table with Vjekoslav and his family and friends. Upon my return to Plitvice I will stay here again and look forward to another wonderful time! Thanks -ALLEN

  • We enjoyed staying at Vjekoslav’s place for our visit to Plitvice. The weather was really cold when we got there (coming from the sunny coast), but we were greeted with hot cups of tea, warm conversation and as a bonus, a small heater for the room! Vjekoslav is a great host who is very attentive to his guests and a wealth of information about traveling to Plitvice and other places in Croatia. We would gladly recommend a stay at his place.

About
Hi people, I am (trying to be) an easy going person and just enjoy every day life with no high or special expectations. Renting my houses and being a host is a thing that I really like, while meeting so many different people while they are on vacation is a perfect way of getting to know what easy going and enjoying every day life is! I love nature and country life, so having one house on the wonderful croatian coast (where I produce my very own olive oil) and another in the equaly wonderful mountain area by the famous Plitvice Lakes, gives me a great opportunity of enjoying it both and share it with my guests.
