Prime location in peaceful residential Prati, St. Peters Basilica and the Vatican are 5 minutes to the North, with Piazza del Popolo and the Navona Square just over the river. Prati offers its inhabitants much in the way of cafes, trattorias, shopping, nightlife and theatre. Guests experience the best of both worlds-a prime central location with the authenticity of a Roman residential neighborhood 5 minutes walking from Lepanto station ( Metro A).
The guests will have access to the entire apartment
I will give to the guests all my suggestions in order to have a very good Holidays!
The House is in a very central position. Near to the Vatican, near to the most beautiful places of Rome!
There are so many pubblic trasport very close to the house!
We were a family of 6 (four children aged 4 to 11) and spent three weeks in Rome. The apartment was very well adapted for us. We could comfortably have dinner, lunch and breakfast there and the children could play inside if the weather was not good.
The apartment is very well located in an area which high end residential, but also comercial (you have everyrhing nearby), is central and near most tourist spots. At the same time the area itself is not touristy and therefore we could have a better feeling of what local life is like. You find mostly locals in the streets which for us was a big plus in a city so full of tourists as Rome.. Although it is in a first floor, the Street is quite quiet.and we were never disturbed by Street noises.
Services like hot wáter, electricity in general and wi-fi worked fine.
Audrey was an excellent host in all respects, always ready to respond to all our requests promptly.
To summarize our experience. A very good price/quality option for a large group (up to six), whether it is for a short or long stay. .
First the good: Well-located for sightseeing, shops for all needs within a few steps, large space, reasonable furnishings, not too noisy at night (but your mileage may vary), well-suited for families in that the second bedroom has bunk beds and toys and such. Audrey is quite pleasant and wants to help. But the shortcomings of AirBNB hit us here: No hot water for a day due to plumbing mix-up and we discovered that we had the only keys for the unit, meaning we needed to change our plans to come back to let them in the unit. Power went out... three times for us for almost no rational reason. Know that you cannot run multiple appliances and lights at the same time, but it tripped even when we followed the rules we were told after the first outage - the dryer in the unit (a big selling point for us with our energetic toddler) also stopped working well. And the Wi-Fi worked for a total of one afternoon of our total 7 days there. Audrey kindly offered to refund a portion of our fees but we've not yet seen that refund. (that may be an AirBNB issue and not Audrey). Listen, she means well and insisted that these problems hadn't cropped up with other guests, but when you rent from a service like this you're going to rent from non-professional managers and you get what you get, good intentions and all. Outside of those hiccups the unit has charm and is in a delightful part of town, but we can't recommend it based on our experiences. The building has central heat and in the mornings some might find it cold, especially in the kitchen area. Perhaps you'll have better luck if you stay here and, again, Audrey has the best of intentions and may very well iron out these issues. The problems didn't detract from a terrific visit for us but for the price, it left a bad taste.
Eric, the things you have written are absolutely absurd and I am wondering if your goal is to arrive only to get a refund.
From my side these are my comments:
People absolutely not polite , they called me any time at all hours because the power went off , (since it was the first time it happened I went home to understand the problem) and I found that they kept all the lights on, washing machine, dishwasher, everything else together ON.
They called me telling me that there was no hot water , so I went home with the plumber and discovered that they had turned off the water heater .
They don’t respect the timing at the check In and also at the Check out.
When they are went away, I found the house in very bad condition , all dirty and nothing has been treated with care. I had to double the hours for cleaning and spend a lots of money and time to re-arrange everything.
At home everything works , hot water, electricity , wifi.
All persons who have been there before have written in their reviews and also the family that has come after them will testify.
Unfortunately for me it was a terrific experience. People absolutely disrespectful of the house and not recommended.
We had a great stay at Audreys appartment. It was big and rambling and great for the 4 of us. It was in a busy part of town, what part of Rome is not busy, but it was quiet and very convenient to everything
Highly recommend it.
Audrey was great; very responsiveness and punctual. The home is awesome, there were three of us, all singles. Location is great; near a metro and in a vibrant and safe neighborhood. Great value. I'd recommend to both individuals and families.
