Studio was clean and had everything we needed. We didn't meet Neil and Sharon since they were out of town but Mary took good care of us. Good location to explore the Island.
It was really great to stay at Neil and Sharon place. Neil is a great surfer, we had a magic session in a secret spot! Thanks a lot!!!
We loved our stay at the Jungle studio during our honeymoon. The property is beautiful and well maintained and surrounded by lush greenery. We felt like we were in our own little world, yet close enough to great food, beaches, hiking and activities. We met Sharon briefly, and she was lovely and welcoming. We spent more time speaking to Neil who knows the island very well and was filled with tips of where to go and what to do in Kauai.
I loved the Jungle Studio! It was super quiet, comfortable, spacious, and clean, and provided everything I needed. I would have loved to spend more time there and enjoy the little terrace and hammock more. It is definitely a place that I'd come back to and recommend to friends. Since I was attending a conference in Poipu and spent most of my time there, I did not get to hang out with Neil and Sharon a lot. Which is a shame because they were awesome, warm, friendly, and with a great sense of humor. Mahalo for making me feel at home in your place!
Neil was a charming host, and the well-named jungle studio, which includes a porch (with hammock!) surrounded by dense foliage, had a lovely ambiance. A nice location away from tourist-central, yet still fairly close to Poipu beach, Lihue, and Waimea Canyon. The kitchen was well stocked and equipped with both appliances and foods (spices, etc.).
Light sleepers may want earplugs, as the night is full of sounds, including the island's ubiquitous roosters, which exhibit an overly broad interpretation of the concept of "dawn". A bit tricky to find at night (our flight was delayed).
Overall, a very pleasant stay and well recommended.
Thank you for staying with us and for being wonderful guests. Note to potential guests: while we equip the units, it is previous guests who leave a varied selection of spices and condiments and we leave them there for future guests to use or discard as they see fit.
Neil & Sharon were incredibly welcoming from the very beginning. Offered tips on fun places to see & also spots to grab a bite toe at. The studio was in a great location and easy to get there. Comfortable setting, nice lighting in the mornings, and plenty of cookware for us to make some meals at home. It's a nice location, not far from the best places on the island to snorkel and s(website hidden)ring the stormy winter months. Thanks for hosting us!!
Neil and Sharon were fabulous hosts! They were warm and welcoming throughout my stay. The studio was just as depicted in the photos, with the most delicious smelling, freshly cut flowers cheering up the room when I arrived. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

Thirty year resident of Kauai who has built various simple Balinese/Polynesian/ Swiss Family Robinson style timber homes in beautiful island settings.
First came to Kauai in 1980 as part of long world wide surf odyssey - was on his way to Australia, but fell in love with the island, the way of life and spirit of aloha.
Met South African born wife, Sharon, in 2003 on the island. They married on the beach in Poipu in 2005.
Both love the island, love hearing the varied fascinating stories people live, and both love to read and travel!
