Overall Guest Satisfaction

  • We had a great stay, Everything at the studio was as I expected. Neil was a gracious host, the setting was beautiful and very easy to access as we explored the island. Definitely worth a return stay when I come back to finish exploring the Garden Isle.

One suggestion, if you use any of the stuff left by previous guests, check it out before you go to the beach- we grabbed a damaged snorkel that made for a more difficult swim, but it wasn't worth leaving the beach to go buy a new one...

  • The Jungle Studio was everything it says it was. Great location, clean, very comfortable room. It was just right for us, and we couldn't beat the "bang for the buck". Thank you Neil and Sharon for your hospitality.

  • We stayed here for a whole week, and had a great time. It's a 10 minute drive to Poipu beach. Neil was very knowledgeable and helpful. He is very willing to help you book experiences (Na Pali cruise, helicopter rides, luaus, etc, etc), so you may want to take him up on that experience. The place is up a hill which keeps it very cool at night. If you want to stumble out of your room onto a beach, this is not the place for you. We thought it was great and centrally located - ~1.5hrs to Hanalei, 30 minutes to Wimea canyon. We packed up for the day every morning and came back in the evening. Really great time, and great value for the price.

  • Stayed for a week and it was a great time. The cabin is a total private get away. It's just a few minutes off the main highway so it is very easy to get to by car. The cabin is spacious and clean. My friend and I was able to cook breakfast every morning and eat in the lanai. So relaxing and fun.

  • Neil was super friendly and full of local information that helped made our Kauai visit a richer experience. The studio was clean and comfortable. We loved staying in the jungle and all our needs were met with the kitchen, screened-in lanai and even a cooler! Thanks Neil and we wish you and Sharon the best!

  • Neil is a very nice and helpful host. He is able to give very good tips for what to do on Kauai. His "jungle studio" has everything you need: Private bathroom, well equipped kitchen, a big fridge, TV, stereo and most important a very big "moskito proof" lanai. Although it takes only some minutes to the highway to explore the island, the jungle studio is still secluded and very peaceful. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back. Mahalo, Neil!

  • Neil and Sharon are wonderful! They are both incredibly welcoming and have a wealth of knowledge to share about the island. We had a great time getting breakfast at Neil's local coffee shop and chatting with him. The apartment is nice and cozy too, the outdoor / screened in patio is a great place to relax and have a beer or two. I would definitely recommend the little jungle abode! I hope to come back someday and stay with them again :)

Thanks so much - you were great guests!

  • Neil really hosts an amazing place. My girlfriend and I spent 7 days in Kauai and the Jungle Studio was very nice and centrally located to all of the activities we were doing. Neil also was very nice and helpful on places to go and things to see on the island. Hope to stay there again!

  • My partner & I visited the Jungle Studio for 3 nights in June. Although it was a short stay, we had a wonderful time and were left wishing we could stay longer!
The Studio was perfect for us. It had a wonderful warm relaxing feeling to it, plenty of space and contained everything we could have needed for our trip -even snorkeling gear! Although it is situated under Neil & Sharon's house, we felt like we were a world away from anyone with a big (bug proof) lanai surrounded by tropical plants and bird noises. I even loved the occasional rooster crow!
We hired a car (highly recommended) and drove around the island to a different area every day. Our highlights included Waimea Canyon, Hiking the Na'pali coast & visiting local farmers markets. Kaua'i is unbelievably beautiful & ultra relaxing.
Neil & Sharon were so warm & welcoming. They were ready to recommend their favorite places in the area, and even helped us out with some wonderful suggestions for the remainder of our travels around the islands of Hawaii.
I would highly recommend Neil's Jungle Studio and hope to return soon.

  • As a woman traveling alone I was looking for a safe and relaxing place to stay that would be central to everywhere I'd want to go without being in "tourist central" -- this place was perfect on all accounts! Quiet (well, other than the roosters but I dare you to find anywhere on Kauai without roosters), and the hosts (Neil and Sharon) were friendly but non-intrusive. It definitely felt like a home away from home.

Both love the island, love hearing the varied fascinating stories people live, and both love to read and travel!
