Eve is a great host! She is really welcoming and is always asking what you may need (although everything was great and we didn't need anything!) The living space is wonderful! It was a great place to stay for the month we were there. Very close to everything you need in the Charlottesville area (food, groceries, entertainment, etc.). We would definitely stay again!

I spent 4 weeks in Eve's beautiful garden apartment while working at UVA. She's a kind and generous hostess. I was greeted with wine and coffee. The neighborhood is very nice and the Charlottesville Area Transportation (CAT) bus (route 9) stops at the top of the hill. The Rivanna Trail is also close by. Off street parking was very convenient. The apartment was very spacious, comfortable, and well appointed. Common laundry is located on the same floor. While it does not have a full kitchen, the mini fridge, microwave, hot plate and steamer were more than adequate for me to prepare my own food and not have to eat out for every meal. Trader Joes, Whole Foods, and many restaurants are close to the apartment. She has two very loving dogs that were never loud or disruptive. When the drain in the shower was slow, Eve quickly fixed the issue. She communicates quickly and efficiently via text message. My stay in Eve's apartment was very enjoyable and peaceful.

The place is very well maintained. Looks fresh and clean in all areas. Greatly facilitated with almost everything you can / cannot think of using in a furnished apartment. Most importantly, great host! Eve is a very kind and well mannered lady who has been very attentive and considerate to me and my situation. I was in Charlottesville for a whole month to receive a series of surgeries in a local hospital. Eve had been very accommodating to me and my caregivers, way beyond what I could ever ask for or think of. She's also very casual and easy to get around with. She's willing to help and make offers to anything you may possibly need, although there really isn't anything missing in the provided areas. Spacious living room, huge bedroom, shower room with large counter area surrounding the sink - nothing's better than that for the miscellaneous stuff a woman can possibly bring with her even on a trip! :P My stay in her lower floor of the house has been a very blessing one. I would totally recommend her place to any short term stay travelers without any reservation!

I can't believe how lucky I was to stay in Eve's wonderful apartment! When I found out that I would be moving to Charlottesville for work I needed to find a temporary place to stay - but I found much more than that. Eve was, and continues to be, so helpful in educating me about this great city. Her apartment was very comfortable and had everything I needed for the month that I stayed - not to mention being located in a beautiful neighborhood. I have nothing but praise for the space and Eve herself - the perfect place and the perfect host! Thank you Eve!

Having spent the month of July in Eve's quiet, peaceful, light, artfully appointed, convenient and lovely Garden Apartment I can wholeheartedly recommend it with two green thumbs up. If you're visiting Charlottesville this is a sweet, sweet spot to call home. While I'd originally planned to be more touristy, I found the space so suitable for my work, the internet so fast and reliable, Trader Joe's and Whole Foods so close, the garden, forest and porch so easy to take breaks on right outside the door, that I had one of the most amazingly productive work months ever. Everything needed was close at hand in the apartment including laundry, cable TV, microwave, toaster oven and compact mid-size fridge(s). While there isn't a full-size kitchen in terms of stove/oven/sink, everything a single or duo needs for food preparation, serving and cleanup is provided. There are so many outstanding restaurants and take-outs close by that keeping happily fed and watered was too easy. Had I wanted to go further afoot exploring, there's a bus stop at the end of the street. My chocolate lab, Beta, had it just as good. Our daily jaunts to the Rivanna trail (one block away down a quiet cul-de-sac) always included a hike, a swim and then some flower, bird or groundhog smelling identification. We saw lots of deer and said hello to a few friendly and genuinely warm neighbors. Eve's dogs were a fun pair and totally laid-back even with a new dog sharing their yard. We sometimes walked through the neighborhood just to admire the size of massive magnolias and the colors of a constantly shifting array of flowering bushes. Eve adapted so graciously to letting me work and read quietly in the apartment. Yet, when I had questions about the area she was a cheerful and knowledgeable guide. The breadth of her circle of friends, of which she has many, speaks volumes about her easy, charming and fun-loving sociability. She truly made both Beta and I feel very welcome. I can't wait to go back with my wife and explore more of the surrounding area. There's no doubt whatsoever about where we'll be staying...

HI,

I'm Eve, a part time teacher in Charlottesville. I am very young at heart. I love to hike, ski, skate, and garden. I have two dogs that I walk on the nearby trails. Obviously I love the outdoors.

In the past five years I have traveled extensively. A trip to San Miguel Mexico gave me the chance to study Spanish, a trip to France and Switzerland provided the opportunity to see the Alps and visit with friends, and a trip to China to visit my family gave me the opportunity to see many sites and get to know the city of Beijing. Last year I visited a friend in Alaska and traveled from Anchorage to the north and the south. It was the warmest and sunniest summer on record. I enjoyed biking the trails around Anchorage and seeing a moose and a grizzly from afar. My next trip will be to either Guatemala or Spain - either destination will give me the opportunity to continue my study of Spanish.

I'm a people person and enjoy meeting the many people who visit. I was born and raised in Hot Springs, Virginia but now make Charlottesville my home. I've had a great time hosting the many folks who have stayed with me. Most of my visitors stay for a month or more, so Sunday dinners or a trip to a vineyard are all part of the deal!
