Interaction with Guests
When not traveling, Geraldine & Joe reside in a separate wing of their home w/ their own private entrance, kitchen & living space. We greatly enjoy each guest. We or a manager are available to assist you in any way possible.
We have a beautiful, private, relaxed & carefree home.
We enjoy fine wines and conversation; we retire at 10 pm.
We are located in Marin County in the forested, tranquil San Geronimo Valley, surrounded by rolling hills, douglas fir, oak and bay trees. There are excellent hiking trails, golf and restaurants within walking distance or short drive.
If you or your children have not seen the giant redwood trees, that truly is a must do. In this regard, our home is about 8 minutes from Samuel P Taylor State Park, where there are magnificent redwood trees, many right next to the Lagunitas Creek. This experience is highly similar to visiting Muir Woods but you do not need to park, take a bus and wait in long lines with a huge crowd of people. This park is a mystical place … children & adults can walk right into the hallowed out base of some giant redwood trees. Plan a picnic ... the kids love playing in the creek.
The many beaches near us offer adults and kids great joy!
The village of Stinson Beach, has a spectacular beach and the quaint town features good restaurants, art galleries, surf shop, etc.
Point Reyes National Seashore is about 15 minutes from our Lagunitas home. It was established to preserve and protect wilderness, natural ecosystems, and cultural resources along the diminishing undeveloped coastline of the western United States.
The Seashore is a sanctuary for myriad plant and animal species and for the human spirit—for discovery, inspiration, solitude, and recreation—and exists as a reminder of the human connection to the land.
Marine biologists have identified nearly a third of all known marine mammal species in the waters surrounding Point Reyes. Blue whales and humpback whales feed there during spring and summer months. Gray whales migrate past the shores twice a year on their round trip from Alaska to Baja.
The Point Reyes National Seashore Visitor Center on Bear Valley Road is a fantastic opportunity for children & adults. There is a natural history museum, maps of all the hiking trails, Miwok Indian cultural experiences AND, across the road, the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake Trail … it’s just a short hike, but very memorable.
On the way to Stinson Beach is the "Five Brooks Horseback Riding" facility.
Nearby Tomales Bay features “Blue Waters Kayaking”, a full service kayaking outfitter.
Local Restaurants & Deli:
Lagunitas Grocery & Deli is just at the bottom of our hill. It features home cooked deli items.
“Arti Restaurant", also just at the bottom of our hill, features Indian fare and gets RAVE reviews.
"Two Bird Cafe at the Valley Inn", about a mile away, is very fine American food.
The locals love it for casual breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a charming outdoor dining deck. In season, they serve fresh oysters.
The town of Fairfax is about 15 minutes away ... LOTS of great live music, movie theater, restaurants, bakeries and coffee shops.
The village of Nicasio, about 10-15 minutes away, features the "Rancho Nicasio” restaurant, an old fashioned saloon type of building. Robert Redford hangs out there when he is visiting George Lucas down the road. The "Rancho" has lunches, dinners and music in the evenings ... on the weekends they host live lawn concerts with BBQ food ... makes for a GREAT day!
Lots of fresh, organic, local food, cheeses and organic markets ... no shortage of gluten free offerings.
There are glorious hiking trails right from our driveway ... do a search and all of them will pop up. We're also happy to give you ideas when you arrive.
Golden Gate Transit & West Marin Stagecoach bus services.

Super experience. Geraldine/Joe were great hosts.
I'm from that area and was there as a business traveler and was still amazed at the property. It's unique. If you've not experienced West Marin it should be on your list and this would be a great place to start.
This place was amazing and even nicer than the pictures show.
It was very clean and comfy! The bathroom was fully equiped with various towels, Shampoo, Body wash, conditioner and so on.
We used the Pool and the patio once, it was great.
It is located outside SF (countryside), but as we had a car it was fine for us. You have to drive up the hill, but no problem with our SUV.
The place is very quiet and only surrounded by woods, which was very nice!
Unfortunately we did not meet our hosts, but they were available via phone and their friendly neighbour showed us around and was very helpful.
I can definetely recommend staying with Geraldine!
This was my first Airbnb adventure and it was a truly an extraordinary experience. Geraldine is an absolute joy. You can feel the love she has for her home, her roses/flowers and those who come to stay.
I was on the property, alone, for four days! I made sure i had one full day when I could stay on premises to enjoy the peace, solitude, flowers, trees, sun, clean air, clear sky, etc. It was awesome and I highly recommend adding a day to your stay! I got to feel like I owned the place and was able to appreciate my experience to the fullest! I really did not want to leave!
I have friends who live in the area so I will be back. I am so looking forward to it!
The moment I arrived I was spellbound. The setting and accommodations are absolutely magical but then there was Geraldine and her husband, Joe. I have not met a more gracious or genuine couple in a long while. Geraldine invited the four of us for champagne with her extended family to celebrate my birthday and her brothers which happened to be on the same day. All I can say is I wish I had been so fortunate as to have a family like all of them. The bottom line is if you want the most perfect getaway, setting and hospitality this is where to come. I cannot thank them enough!
A stand out experience on so many levels! Geraldine & Joe are such gracious hosts. The room was immaculate, very well appointed with thoughtful, detailed touches throughout. The garden/outdoors-- equally stunning. As if that weren't enough, I was made to feel genuinely welcomed and cared for before, during and after my 2 week stay. Geraldine was very prompt with all communications. I drove in late from SFO and Geraldine & Joe stayed up and patiently guided me to their lovely home. After I left, I had forgotten something in the room and Geraldine generously sent it back to me. I came to visit Spirit Rock and the nourishment there was replicated by the hosts. And the meditation hut Geraldine created at the top of the property is a sacred space. For me, what distinguished this experience was the kindness, generosity and warmth offered by Geraldine & Joe. They graciously offer their stunning home & the light in their hearts. I've traveled my entire career and this was unquestionably one of the most memorable experiences.
With deep gratitude, Tina
I've stayed with Geraldine and Joe twice in one year and as always, the stay was superb! The room(s) are very private at the top of a staircase with a door at the bottom. There is a door directly out into the garden from the rooms which is a nice place to sip a cup of coffee or tea (which they provide). The flowers and garden are completely beautiful and serene, very peaceful. I'd highly recommend staying with Geraldine and Joe!
Even though Geraldine wasn't there to greet us, her home and property is beautiful. We were met by Lindsey who lives on the property and given gate and room keys. The private room is inviting and bright. You feel as if you are sitting up amongst the treetops. It can be a little tricky navigating the road up to the house, but we never once encountered another car, just pedestrians. The neighborhood is wonderful and Fairfax is just a quick ride down the road if you need great restaurants and necessities. Thank you Geraldine for all of the information given beforehand, it was all as you had said.
