The cheapest way to get to the apartment is to take the Flyaway from the airport towards Union Station. The bus is only $8 and will drop you off near Downtown. From there you can either take a taxi or the bus( 704 and exit Silverlake Blvd or #2 and exit Benton way. It's a 1/4 mile walk to the apartment so if you have a ton of luggage I would take the taxi ( about $12-16 )
Other Things to Note
This house is on a hill, there is flat parking 3 houses down and three houses up incase hill parking isn't your forte.
Don't rock and roll the place to death and smoking outside only.
Jaz's place in Silverlake is so cute and lovely. I stayed with a friend and the bed and futon are really comfortable and the place is nice and clean which I really appreciated. She had really nice food and all the toiletries you need! My friend forgot her computer charger at home and Jaz found us one to use which was super nice. I would love to stay there again!
Jaz's place was excellent to call home for 2.5 months. The room was big enough not to get stir-crazy, with access to a lovely courtyard.
Jaz was incredibly obliging and friendly. She kindly had some provisions in the fridge when I arrived, and had recently upgraded the cooking facilities to include a really good hot plate and microwave. This was more than enough to cook effectively.
I did read some reviews saying it was difficult to park. I am far from the world's best parker and never had a problem.
I can't recommend the neighborhood more highly. All up I was in Silver Lake for almost 9 months. It's vibrant, friendly and central to most of the activities I liked to do.
I had a wonderful stay at Jaz's place, and she was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. The apartment was very clean and comfortable, and she even stocked the fridge for me. It's also a very short walk from Silverlake and Sunset, and I enjoyed an afternoon run around Silverlake Reservoir. I would definitely recommend Jaz and her apartment.
The location is perfect! There was always a parking space right outside the house, and the apartment is walking distance from lots of Silverlake and Echo Park sights. I stayed here in December, so didn't get a lot of light in the basement studio, but it was very cozy and Jaz was always quick to respond to our queries, and made us feel totally welcome.
My second stay at Jaz's place was just as nice as the first. Great location, easy on-street parking, tidy apartment with all the necessities, and a welcoming host. What more could you ask for?
I'm a west coast gal who loves music and running. I also love running with music! I have a team of cats who lay about in the sun and I think my neighborhood is the greatest place in the world. I love to travel, especially to France and I will go just about anywhere to see a good concert.
