Reindeer Cottage is an adorable Wrightwood cabin rental near Mountain High. This vacation home features 3 bedrooms, a sun room, fireplace, knotty pine, and a real reindeer (taxidermy head mount). Our guests get discounts to Big Pines (Navitat) ziplines and other local businesses, plus $39 day passes to Mountain High. Inquire for details.
This cabin has 3 bedrooms on 2 floors sleeping up to 9, 1 bathroom, a living room with vaulted ceiling and fireplace, galley kitchen, and sun room with a long table for dining or playing board games.
Rooms consist of one queen bed room, one room with 2 twin beds that can be made into a short king bed,, one loft room with a double/full bed and a twin bed, and a queen sofa bed in the living room. The galley kitchen has a retro vibe but is fully functional and comes complete with all you'll need for nice meals except the food itself. The bathroom is tiny, we'll admit it, but despite its size it is very spa-like with custom travertine, concrete bowl sink, and rain shower head.
Porch in front and gorgeous custom deck behind house with mountain views all around this vacation home in Wrightwood.
Reindeer Cottage is located a block from the Wash where people hike and sled, and just a 10-minute walk to the shops and restaurants on the Wrightwood village strip. Mountain High ski resort, Wrightwood Guest Ranch, and Big Pines Zip Line (formerly Navitat) are a short drive.
Parking: room for 3 cars in front of house.
Guest access: guests will have access to the entire home. No shared amenities or areas; the full house and yard are all yours to enjoy!
Interaction with Guests
Guests will receive a key code to let themselves in at their convenience after the 3pm check-in time, and can lock up at the 10am check-out time, all without our involvement. However, we live just a few blocks away and can easily be of assistance as needed.
The home is located in the town of Wrightwood, close to the southern edge, which means there are mountain views in both the front and back of the house. Sit on the front porch or relax on the back deck and enjoy the mountains and the incredible stars at night. Though in a neighborhood, many of the houses on the street are private vacation homes that are often not used so it's pretty quiet.
Walk to town (10 minutes) and to hiking/sledding areas. Close to the Wrightwood Country Club.
Pets allowed with $30 pet fee; pet mess in yard must be cleaned. Yard is fenced.
Smoking allowed outside only and must use an ashtray (NOT the ground -- highly flammable area!) and must clean up all cigarette mess before check-out.
Please read our house rules before you book our cabin. Certain rules will forfeit the entire security deposit, including the smoking rules and exceeding the maximum number of allowed guests without permission, including daytime guests that don't stay overnight (max 9 at any time -- set by the County).
Living room with sofa bed. Loft stairs in the back, and hall to bathroom and downstairs bedrooms on the left.
We stayed at the Reindeer Cottage for my brother's birthday and had a great time. The house was cozy and we all loved the theme of the place. There was plenty of space for the six of us. And the cottage was only minutes away from the village center where we enjoyed eating out. We would definitely stay there again in the future
I really loved the cabin. It was just minutes from the ski resort. The cabin was very cozy and spacious. There were a lot of extras such as the patio and chess table. We completely enjoyed our time there!
Barbara was exceptionally inviting and made me and my crew feel welcome using their property. We rented the cabin for a night to shoot a short video, and the minute we entered the cabin, my crew and I all had the exact same thought - "We have to come back here for fun. This place is amazing!" What a great value.
Barbara was very quick to response and extremely helpful in planning our trip. Cabin was cozy but spacey enough to fit the six of us very comfortably, all in our own beds. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook breakfast and dinner, with a grocery store just across the main road for ingredients. Hiking trails only about five miles away, easy to drive to. Definitely would book again!
This is my first time to use airbnb and it was a wonderful experience. The town is nice and the community is quiet, and the house is a hidden gem. It may look normal from outside, but the interior is just nice arranged and decorated. As an architect, I really like the house' plan arrangement, you check it out because Barbara included the plan drawing in the images, which is surprise to us compared with other places. The dining room with the long dining table is surrounded by big windows, it's just beautiful and romantic. And, the deck, is our favorite, we can just stand there BBQ and drinking all day long, watching the mountain and the forests beyond the roofs of our neighbors. When it gets really cold, you can stay in the living room and gather around the fire place, heart-melting!
Any way, we loved it!
We had a nice time at the Reindeer Cottage. We had a few girls for a bachelorette party and wanted to get out of LA and relax. We were certainly there during the off-season – I think Wrightwood must be a big ski town. It was pretty warm for the weekend we were there, and we had trouble finding a place to swim – just something to keep in mind if you’re going during the summer months. We did find some lovely hikes. Barbara was helpful and kind and all communications were easy and straightforward.
Barbara and Stuart were very responsive, helpful and kind. They went out of their way to help us with information about Wrightwood and also to provide us with an iron as we needed to prepare for our son's wedding.
The cabin was comfortable, clean and conveniently located. The neighborhood is nice and we enjoyed every aspect of our stay. The price was right and we would love to return in the future.
