The space

This is a large and comfortable house with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large living room, a fully equipped kitchen and a verandah with a breath-taking view.

The price quoted on this page is for the whole house. We can also rent a room with private bathroom, so please enquire and we will make an offer.

Laborie is a peaceful and authentic Caribbean village, if you are looking for discos and shopping mall you will be disappointed, but if you feel like bathing at and walking along a deserted beach, enjoying village life (and a cold beer with a fish meal at one of the local restaurants) or going for a hike in the hills, then you will enjoy a visit to Laborie

The house is beautiful.. We love the view and the big porch to enjoy it!semi private rocky beach with easy access and good swimming a big plus! Yves was a great host although we barely saw him..that was perfect for us as we like privacy!

Yves was a wonderful host and we felt incredibly welcomed. The home is rustic, but if you are looking for seclusion and an amazing view, this is your place! Laborie, the fishing village down the hill is small so make sure to bring in food from a super market on your way from the airport (which Yves arranged to have our taxi driver stop at!). Our #1 recommendation would be to have a car. Though Laborie is beautiful there is so much to see and it can be difficult to get around without. We loved our stay and had a great honeymoon.

A spectacular host and location. Yves (and the "caretaker" Evelyn) was a truly caring host who sought to make our experience as pleasant as possible. He was available to take care of any requests, easy to communicate with and generous. Laborie is a wonderful place to stay. Not touristy in the least, it may not be ideal for everyone, but we loved it. The locals are kind and outgoing. The scenery is wonderful. And there's a little market, bakery and a few restaurants within a short walk. Because the village is built for locals, not tourists, it is also much more affordable than up North. We spent one night in the North and decided that was plenty. We were happy to return to the South. Personally, we'd rank Laborie beach as one of the best on the island. That said, if you want nightlife, extensive dining options or have OCD, this may not be the place for you. The home is nice and large. The view simply can not be beat. The best view we have ever experienced. The listing is accurate. You must be prepared for a few bugs (the "intensity of nature" as I've seen it referred), but in our opinion it is well worth the benefits. We were there 10 days and spent a couple of them lounging on the porch enjoying the view before wandering to the village for dinner. Good wi-fi. Well-stocked kitchen. Fans (nice in the nights, though the weather was pleasant). Overall, a great value. I highly recommend this property and plan to return. Thank you Yves and Evelyn for sharing this slice of heaven with our family.

The view was great when sitting on the porch. Lots of wind to keep you cool. Short walk to town. A little harder coming back as it is all up hill. For eats we found Zoe's just over the bridge. Good chicken and bake. Zeb's creole bread before Zoe's beside the Elvis sign. Just ask someone. Open 12 - 5. Salt Rush Cafe right on the beach for some good fish dinners. Lime green beside gas station. For any tours please check out Edmunds Tours. Bus system is easy once you figure it out and cheaper than taxis. You'll have a great stay.

Yves is an excellent host and we had a beautiful stay at a unique house with lovely character. He gave us our space and wasn't intrusive at all while he stayed in the upstairs appartment above the house. Can't recommend it highly enough. There isn't Air Con or high luxury but what you get here with the views and privacy that can't be gotten at a resort. The bay in front is secluded and has pebbled beach with calm waters for great swims. Go to far end for sandy floor. Highly recommend also visiting Mama Tilly's shack in Laborie. One of the best lobsters I've ever had. We also had a car hire for our jaunts to other parts of the island - parking available.

Our family really enjoyed Ives's house! The view is stunning, veranda specious and comfortable, big kitchen...great house! Ives helped us with everything that we needed, renting a car, buying vegetables from the farmers, fish and lobsters from the fishermans, us all the comfort that we needed for us and our baby. Evelyn was great too. She played with our baby, coocked us creol meal and was very helpful around the house. We really felt like at home and loved the village. The beach down the house is remote but a little bit difficult to get to, but the village beach is beautiful, clean and during the week we were alone there. I would recomend the house and the Laborie if you are looking for quiet and relaxing holidays.

My name is Yves Renard, but you don't really need to know too much about me, more about the place. Laborie is a very quiet and attractive fishing village located in the south of Saint Lucia. It's not the right place if you are looking for casinos and night clubs, but perfect if you want to discover or rediscover Caribbean culture, eat fresh fish in a small village restaurant, enjoy a deserted beach or take a walk in the hills.
