Our beautiful house, suitable for family vacation just footsteps from Amsterdam, is located in a very quiet residential area, with traffic minimal, at a walking distance from metro station and shopping mall. Amsterdamsebos, where you can walk, ride horse, canoe is nearby. You can also walk along a canal nearby

The house is only 15 minutes drive from Schiphol airport ( bus 199 stop Brink ,or train to Amsterdam South station and then metro 51, same stop as above ), or 20/25 minutes from Amsterdam Central Station ( metro 51 stop as above ), or 15/20 minutes from the very hearth of Amsterdam, i.e. Leidseplei/Vondelpark ( tram 5 and then metro 51, stop as above ).
Metro station and bus stop are at a walking distance, a shopping mall ( with a supermarket, butcher, grocer, baker, delicatessen, stationary, etc.) just opposite to the metro station.
The house is situated in a compound where traffic is minimal or non existent. Two or three playing grounds for children are in the compound. You can also enjoy a beautiful promenade along a small canal in a grove behind the house, and from there enjoy also a picturesque view of the Dutch countryside.
The Amstel river, and the Amsterdamsebos ( Woods ) wher you can walk, run, canoe or ride horse, are not far.
Not far also the South Station of Amsterdam, from where you can travel by train to Den Haag, Rotterdam, Haarlem, Alkmaar, Delft, Horn or any other place you like.

The details of the house are the following:
- Ground floor: Entrance hall, small toilet with basin, living room with stereo and big flat TV, fully equipped kitchen
- Private garden ( 50 sq. meters ) with garden set, where you can have a pleasant sunbathing, or you can relax in the shadow of an electrical awning
- Private open parking space
- First floor: Master bedroom ( 16 sq. meters ) with king size double bed, built-in mirror wardrobe, cabinet; two small bedrooms( one 10 sq. meters and another one 8 sq. meters ) both with single bed ; bathroom with bathtube, shower, basin and toilet
- Attic: open space with wash-machine and dryer: studio with single bed, chair-bed and cabinet.

The house is fully equipped with bed linen, quilts, blankets and bath-towels. The kitchen is also fully equipped, with dishes, cutlery, pots and pans, built-in appliances ( oven, gas stove, dish-washer ) and microwave, refrigerator, freezer, and coffe machines as well.
Smoking please only in the garden.
No pets are allowed

The house is completely at the disposal of the guests, since we do not live in it.

In the living room you will find maps both of Amsterdam and Amstelveen, and also museum maps.
I can suggest you to pay a visit at least to one of main attraction in Amsterdam:
• Anne Frank house
• Van Gogh museum
• Stedelijk museum ( modern art, recently completely renovated )
• Rijksmuseum ( Rembrandt, Vermeer, Potter – also completely renovated )
• The lively pleinen ( squares ) of Amsterdam: Leidseplein, Rembrandtplein, Damplein
• Waterloo flea market
• De Loieer antique market
• The Binnenhof
• The Schouwburg theater
• The Concertgebouw
• The Melkweg disco
• The Vondelpark, with picnic, skating, sporting places, restaurants, terraces
• A cruise through the “ grachten “ ( Herengracht, Prinsengracht, Keizergracht, Singel, etc. )
• The floating flower market
• The Royal Palace
• The picturesque Jordaan district
• The red light district ( not for the girls in the windows, however, but because in my opinion it is the oldest and most beautiful district in Amsterdam, from an architectural point of view ).

  • We had a great time staying at Paolo's place, even if we only came home to sleep after wandering the city the whole day. We felt like home, the house is fully equipped with everything you need. The location of the house was also good, 30 minutes away from the city center but close to the metro line.
We really enjoy it there! Thank you Paolo!

  • We had a very pleasant stay in Paolo's house.
It is located in a very quiet and green area
The villa is a few minutes far, by walk, from the metro; you can reach Amsterdam Main station in half an hour. .
Paolo's answers, to our questions, were very prompt.
Villa has a lot of useful appliances : dishwasher, digital TV and so on.
We hope to return again :-)

  • Paolos house was just as described and we had a great time there, even though on one day we had heavy rain we just made it us comfortable in the living room and as it cleared up we had enjoyable hours in the garden.
The connection by tram is really good and you can't find any host more caring than Paolo by not being interruding.

  • Paolo's place was very comfortable. Paolo had been very good host and we would certainly recommend highly of his place. Hospitality was second to none. We enjoyed our stay in Amsterdam.

  • Although we have not met in person, Paolo was very kind and take care of our stay. We were in touch daily, he share useful tips about the city and our stay with us. The house was nice and due to the vicinity of the metro, it was easy to reach RAI exhibition centre and Amsterdam centre by metro. I would stay at his house next time in Amsterdam.

  • We were a group of 5. We stayed in Paolo's house for 3 nights. No one complained anything about the equipment or rooms of the house when we arrived. The house was clean and tidy. The only thing that had been mentioned is the location. It's a bit outside of the center of Amsterdam and that worried most of my members. But no one said any word about this when we got back from the Amsterdam center on the next day. Yes, it is true we need to take some 30 minutes to get to the center Amsterdam, but compared to the dirty, noisy center, the quiet, clean and green Amstelveen is perfect. And actually with the help of “ (website hidden)”, it’s even more efficiency to visit another cities if you chose to departure from Amsterdam Zuid. And it’s close to Schiphol airport as well!
Paolo has been very helpful and patient, and, always reply very quickly. We all very satisfied with Paolo’s house and definitely would stay again if I visit Netherlands again.

    Response from Paolo:

    Dear François,
I'm really a bit confused on all the good things that you said on the house, and me and Paulo.
You are a very real gentleman, and I trust to host you again.

    All the best

  • Paolo did an excellent job of communicating with us prior to our stay. The villa itself is *very* conveniently located relative to Schiphol Airport. The Amsterdam Metro stops two short blocks from the villa, with about a 1/2 hour Metro ride to the center of Amsterdam.

The villa is spacious, very well equipped, and very clean. It is a great place for a family to share (we were six individuals spanning three generations). The furnishings are not fancy, but everything is serviceable. We would definitely stay there again.

The only blemish about our stay is that not everything was ready when we arrived at the agreed time -- sheets were still drying and items for recycling hadn't all been removed from the unit. But those were minor inconveniences, and, as I said, we would readily stay at Paolo's villa if we returned to Amsterdam.

    Response from Paolo:

    Dear Mark,
thank you so much for your positive feedback and for your suggestion about the grab. I'm going to ask Paulo to buy and install one.
As to the readyness of the house, I wish to apologise, it is not easy to control cleaning guys and not always you get from them what you have the right to receive.
In your case, it was also a problem of overlapping, because the previous guest delayed the check out, and left only one hour before your arrival.
Next time you come, you'll not find anything to blame.
