Interaction with Guests
The house is big enough for privacy and we will mainly be upstairs in the evenings. We are happy to provide recommendations for local activities and amenities.
Moreland Road is in north-west Melbourne, right on the border between Coburg and Brunswick. Sydney Road is five minutes’ walk away and is full of shops, cafes and bars. Turn right down Sydney Road to go towards the city and the “trendy” (Brunswick) end of Sydney Road; turn left to get to Coburg (about 15 minutes’ walk). You don’t have to go far to find some really nice cafes, bars and restaurants.
Seconds from the train station (15 minutes to Melb CBD), Sydney Rd trams, buses and bike paths. Easy walking distance to most amenities. 25 min cab to Melb airport.

Dan and his family are the perfect hosts, we could not have felt more welcome - little treats to surprise us in the fridge and most helpful re advice about things to do in Melbourne. The accommodation is first class - roomy quiet bedroom (with newly installed double glazing) your own very pleasant private sitting room with TV and movies and private bathroom - and the shared use kitchen worked a treat, we were up early and out and rarely seemed to cross over at all. Great location for walks in funky Sydney Road and Lygon Street. Tram service nearby excellent. On arrival little Max showed us around and was a delight. This was our second stay at 249 and we will certainly be back.
Dan's place is as listed and more. Dan was accommodating and the rooms are generously appointed - bath robes, electric blankets, shampoo, conditioner, miki cards, ear plugs, guidebooks. Dan also went to the effort to print off a what's on for the weekend that led to the highlight of our stay. Dan's communication was excellent and he was very helpful with local suggestions, and offered us home baked goodies and even to book our can to the airport! :) thank you Dan, Charlotte and Max
Dan's place was AWESOME! I drove, so it was pretty near the airport. There is a train station just beside, so for non drivers, its easy as well.
The room was AWESOME! we came in winter and he had ELECTRIC BED WARMERS WHICH WERE THE BOMB!
Dan's son Max is super cute and his place is super cozy. We didnt get a chance to use the living room ( lots of books and movies, great place to chill).
Parking is easy at his place.
Now for the most important part: Dan is an INCREDIBLE CHEF!
We are kicking ourselves for not tasting his caramel fudged ( which we packed and took on the day we left) earlier as it was better than anything we had tried anywhere else! he mad banana bread for us as well and he was truly awesome!
Dan's son is super cute and adorable as well! I would highly recommend Dan's place for anyone who is in the melbourne area!
Keep up the aawesome work Dan!
We had a wonderful stay here and would recommend the place and hosts in a heartbeat. Dan had gone beyond what was required to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. The rooms were spacious and quiet, there were more heating options available than we needed (ducted heating, electric blankets, portable fan heater and hot water bottles), breakfast was plentiful, there were bicycles available for our use and Dan had created quite exhaustive manuals for not only the house and its amenities but also for exploring Melbourne. There was even a little gift left for us in the fridge at one point. I wish we had had more time to spend in the lounge room to explore the extensive DVD and book collection. Dan gave us as much space as we required but was on hand if there was anything we needed. There was nothing more we could have wanted.
Dan is a very friendly host and he accepted my booking promptly even in a very short notice. He provided all the information about the house and transport, etc. before I went there.
The room looked exactly the same as the photo on their profile but it still surprised me when I first went into the room. It was a really really nice, comfy, cozy and warm room (they provided central heating and heating blankets). And I loved the fresh flowers they put in the room! :)
I had my own bedroom, separated living room and bathroom. And Dan provided coffee/tea as well. That was a really great stay at a reasonable cost.
I was happy to speak to Charlotte before I checked out. I hope to stay again next time when I come to Melbourne!
Take care Dan, Charlotte and Max. :)
We had a wonderful time at Dan's place. It's close to the airport and especially close to the Train and Tram stops. The room was quaint and super nice! First time to live in a Victorian designed house. Dan was very hospitable and got us everything we needed. He was very helpful in all things.
Dan was very welcoming on arrival showing us the house, ably assisted by young Max who pointed out all of his favourite toys and bikes.
The house is a stunning Victorian era terrace house and very well laid out.
The bedroom is huge and very clean and comfortable.
Location is within walking distance to restaurants and takeaway, as well as the train station.
