About this listing
I have a large house in center city Philadelphia. The house has three bedrooms available that can accommodate up to five people. I live in the house on another floor. You will have access to the whole house and the roof decks.
I have three bedrooms available. One has a full size bed that will accommodate up to two people, one has a queen bed that will accommodate up to two people, and the other has a twin bed in a new house in the Graduate Hospital area of center city Philadelphia. All of the mattresses are memory foam mattresses and are quite comfortable. The three bedrooms share a bathroom and you would have use of the entire first floor where the living room and kitchen/dining room are. I only accept one party at a time so you will not be sharing a bathroom or the space with anyone else but the people in your party. If you are needing lodging for more than five people, I have an air mattress and memory foam mattress and another extra space to put it in. I also have wireless internet, cable TV, and many other amenities at your convenience. For those with allergies, pets nor smoking has ever been in my house. I keep the house quite clean. I have all the amenities you could ask for. There is a washer and dryer for use on the same floor. You will have full use of the kitchen, all I ask is you leave your dirty dishes in the sink and I will take care of them.
There is a free community swimming pool two blocks away also. My house is just a short 10 minute walk to the most popular and expensive area to live in the city, Rittenhouse Square, with all of usual upscale shopping like Tiffany, Barneys, Armani Exchange, Cole Haan, and Club Monaco just to name a few. A 10 minute walk the other direction and you can be in the Italian Market area. The bus that goes to Old City and the convention center is just a couple blocks away along with another bus that will take you to the Philadelphia Museum of Art or the historic State Prison. Parking is very easy and free if you are driving.
I have lived in Philly for over eight years now and have written a few travel guides and currently write a blog about Philly so I can tell you great places to go. Please email me if you have any questions.
You will have access and use of the whole house. To access both roof decks you will have to go through my bedroom. I am not home a lot and this is not a problem. I like for people to feel at home and make themselves comfortable.
Interaction with Guests
I live in the house on another floor but am not home a lot. I am easily reachable and can be home at a moments notice shall you need anything.
The neighborhood has been recently re-gentrified and is young families. There are bars, restaurants, and shopping nearby.
The 17 bus is a block away and takes you all over the city. It is the most popular bus in Philadelphia reaching more areas of downtown than any other. The 40 bus is about a five minute walk away and can take you to University City. Another bus four blocks away can take you to the Art Museum area.
Other Things to Note
There are no keys to access my house but, instead there is an electronic lock with a code. Feel free to come and go as you like.
The only rule I have is no smoking inside the house.
Rob wasn't home for the weekend so we had the place to ourselves. It was great; clean, convenient, and the rooftop deck was the best with unbelievable views night and day.
Rob was a great host, and the place was incredibly clean and well put together. I'd love to stay here again if I could.
We would be happy to stay here again. Rob, the host was courteous and prompt in communication. The place was SO much better than any hotel room, a whole, very comfortable and clean house with full kitchen. It was very convenient for us with easy parking.
Our stay at Rob's house was great! The interior is very clean and tastefull. On the roof-terrace, you have a beautiful view on Philly.
Rob, thank you for staying at your house and for consuming the leftover beer.
Rob's home is very nice. Pictures are accurate. Within walking distance of Rittenhouse Square. It's about a 30 minute walk from the 30th St Station as well (or $6 uberX ride).
Very comfortable bed, lots of light. Relatively quiet location. Fantastic roof deck. Very nice kitchen that Rob lets guests use.
Rob was very helpful and had plenty of info about Philadelphia.
Overall, a very nice place to stay. No complaints.
We want to thank our host Rob, for making our stay in his home so welcoming. We had a chance to speak for an hour halfway through our three day stay. The brownstone is in a area being gentrified. The neighborhood is truly central to Phillies City Center, probably no more than 10 blocks away. It was a common site to watch the locals walking and biking by every morning on their way to work. The home was extremely well kept and very comfortable. We would very much return on our next trip to Phillie.
About the Host, Rob
I am a very easy going gay male from the Midwest. I enjoy meeting new people and playing tour guide when I can. I love to travel and try to at least once a month. I am easily entertained and easy to get along with. Some of my hobbies include reviewing restaurants, hotels, casino's and other places around the area, writing a blog about Philly, and driving for Uber and Lyft. I am also a computer programmer by day. I try to stay busy but can usually always find time to show guests around the city if they would like.
