About This Listing
I have a large house in downtown Philadelphia. The house has two bedrooms available, one with a twin bed and the other with a full size bed. I live in the house on another floor. You will have access to the whole house and the roof decks.
I have two bedrooms available. One has a full size bed that will accommodate up to 2 people and the other has a twin bed in a new house in the Graduate Hospital area of center city Philadelphia. The two bedrooms share a bathroom and you would have use of the entire first floor where the living room and kitchen/dining room are. I only accept one party at a time so you will not be sharing a bathroom or the space with anyone else but the people in your party. If you are needing lodging for more than 3 people, I have an air mattress and another extra bedroom to put it in. I also have wireless internet, and many other amenities at your convenience. There is a free community swimming pool two blocks away also.
My house is just a short 10 minute walk to the most popular expensive place to live in the city, Rittenhouse Square, with all of your favorite shopping like Tiffany, Barneys, Armani Exchange, Cole Haan, and Club Monaco just to name a few. A 10 minute walk the other direction and you can be in the Italian Market area. The bus that goes to Old City and the convention center is just a block away along with another bus that will take you to the Philadelphia Museum of Art or the historic State Prison. Parking is very easy and free if you are driving. Please email me if you have any questions.
You will have access and use of the whole house.
Interaction with Guests
I live in the house also but am not home a lot. I am easily reachable and can be home at a moments notice shall you need anything.
The neighborhood has been recently re-gentrified and is young families. There are bars, restaurants, and shopping nearby.
The 17 bus is a block away and takes you all over the city. It is the most popular bus in Philadelphia reaching more areas of downtown than any other. The 40 bus is about a 5 minute walk away and can take you to University City. Another bus 4 blocks away can take you to the Art Museum area.
No smoking inside the house.
Rob was a great host who was very accommodative and flexible, allowing us to change the number of guests when we found out we would have more people joining us. He also gave good advice on transportation and where to get groceries. Rob's house is very nicely furnished and clean, with all the amenities we needed and more. He even allowed us to access the rooftop deck through his bedroom which had a spectacular view!
Rob is a great host. I really enjoyed the stay at his apartment. It's very clean. We had our own room with a private bathroom. There's a bus stop very close to the apartment. It's in the Center of Philadelphia and you can also walk downtown (it takes around 20minutes and you can see the interesting neighborhood). During our stay, Rob was always available and immediately answered our questions. The view at his rooftop is amazing. I definitely recommend Rob's apartment.
Rob has a very lovely home in a quiet section of the city. There wasn't too much street noise, the surrounding area was clean and safe, and it was generally a pleasant area of the city if you don't want to be in the hustle and bustle of downtown. The room was absolutely as described, and everything was clean and tidy. Rob was very friendly and offered to provide us with info on the city. I would definitely stay here again when I'm in Philadelphia - especially to take advantage of the roof deck!
We had a fantastic stay and Rob was a fantastic host...a very interesting and well traveled person. The night time view from the roof top porch was (email hidden)rry that we didn't get to spend more time enjoying it. (...next time!) We felt right at home and Rob was super quick and helpful with all communication. Thanks for the great spot in Philly!
Rob made us very welcome in his elegant town house in a pleasant and quiet neighbourhood in central Philadelphia. His tourist information was invaluable. The house, which was exactly as shown in the photos, was a convenient walking distance from the city centre and close to two bus routes.
Rob was great. He gave excellent instructions to make our arrival and entry smooth. The room was as described, comfortable bed, access to the roof patio with a fab view of the city center, and nice bathroom. We didn't see him till we were leaving in the morning and had a great chat with him providing recommendations for local brunch spots. Highly recommend if travelling to Philly.
Great stay at Robs Place, very nicely furnished and clean, spacious floor at our disposal, very nice! First impression of the area was not good, but boy were we wrong: some very cool spots for food, coffee and beers within a few blocks and no problems at all. Philly itself is awesome anyway. Rob himself is a cool person, full of knowlegde about phily and the world, definately a good place.
About the Host, Rob
I am a very easy going gay male from the midwest. I enjoy meeting new people and playing tour guide when I can. I love to travel and try to at least once a month. I am easily entertained and easy to get along with. Some of my hobbies include reviewing restaurants, hotels, casino's and other places around the area. I am a computer programmer by day. I try to stay very busy so I am not home a lot.
