The Space

This cozy apartment comfortably accommodates a single traveler, a couple or a small family visiting Hong Kong. It has a full kitchen with electric cooker, microwave oven, refrigerator and all the eating and cooking utensils that one family would need. It has a full bathroom that has an enclosed shower with water heater. One big and comfortable real bed (Not a futon or pullout sofa) that sleeps 2 people and a double pullout sofa bed that also sleeps 2 people. Flat LCD screen TV with cable TV and a DVD player as well as ultra high speed wireless and LAN internet connection. But the best thing about this apartment is it's location. It is close to all sorts of transportation that take you to everywhere you would want to go to in Hong Kong. Located on the West side of Hong Kong in the Sheung Wan district, it is 5 minutes walking distance from the Sheung Wan MTR Station and 5 minutes from the foreign friendly district Soho (South of Hollywood Rd). It is only a few stops away from the Central MTR station on the Tram or bus and the neighborhood is super safe and friendly. Also, there is a 7 Eleven convenient store as well as a Laundry Place right around the corner.

**In the past I have borrowed out adapters for FREE to guests as a courtesy and convenience, however, too many have not been returned (over 50) and I can no longer keep up with restocking. Unfortunately, I can't provide these for free but if necessary, will sell them AT COST (@HKD20) instead. Sorry that this gesture failed.

Guest Access

Guests have access to:
- Cable TV

Interaction with Guests

As much as possible or invisible if you want. I will try to meet with arriving guests and show them the area. Whenever guests need information or recommendations, I am always available via messaging or phone.

The Neighborhood

The Sheung Wan neighbourhood is ever changing and a fantastic mix of "old' and "new" Hong Kong. This apartment is located in the heart of Hong Kong's commercial, cultural and shopping districts and within short walking distance to the subway and HK Macau Ferry Pier. A few minutes walk away from the harbour front and the fantastic Sun Yat Sun Memorial Park and Public swimming pool over look the world famous Victoria Harbor.

Getting around

The Sheung Wan MTR station is but 8 min walking distance away that takes you all over Hong Kong and Kowloon. There are also buses, trams, minibuses that run near the doorstep of the building on Des Voeux Road West Road and take you to every corner of the island and beyond.

Other Things to Note

Once you arrive in Hong Kong, everything is quite simple and all starts with a call from the FREE phones at the airport located in the hall immediately after you pass through baggage customs. There is also a Visitors Center there if you would like to pick up some maps, local travel guides, etc. to read on your way to the apartment. If you need a local SIM card, there is a 7-11 in the middle section of the main arrival hall where they see all types of SIM cards, I usually prefer the PCCW brand as it is the larges local operator.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Hospitable hostess. The apartment is small, very clean, up to the photos. The location is convenient for exploring the city.

  • Very convenient location - nearby from a tram/bus stop - or, you can walk from the MTR station.
Appartment is clean and neat, the heater helped a lot after being caught in the rain.
The flat has everything that one might need and the communication with the host was easy (they changed curtains and replaced the conditioner remote control when it broke, very quickly)
As for probable noise if you open the windows - it can be a bit noisy in the daytime, however, at night the location is calm.
    Thanks a lot!

  • Thanks a lot Brendon!

This is a very cozy apartment, it is very nice and clean. The host's help is very detailed and useful! This is my first visiting in HongKong. This location is very close to all public facilities: public park, victoria harbour, buses and MTR's

  • It was the first time to using Airbnb. Nice air conditioner, hot water, clean place and clean sheets, free wi-fi and near bus-station!! also Brendan was so kind and he gave a lot of information of Hong Kong. It was nice to stay. Thank you :)

  • Brendan was very prompt with replying to inquiries and very helpful in providing insight into HK and where to go. Given I have visited multiple times before, it was my first staying in Sheung Wan. Good size (larger by HK standards) apartment, abundant space for 4 people. Apartment was clean and two sets of keys were provided for easier access. Fairly quiet area, but abundant small shops and food are available a few minute walk away from the apartment. I would definitely stay here again.

  • Great stay, loved the space and kitchen!

  • The apartment is great, we had an excellent stay. We were having difficulty finding a place to stay in HK over the new year, so I contacted Brendan and he provided me with a list of available accomodation. When we arrived everything was very well organized (there was someone waiting for us where to taxi dropped us off to make sure we found the place).

We were 3, and the apartment was the perfect size for us, not too small. It is also very located, 10 minute walk to the metro with lots of buses and trams stops.

Would definately recommend staying here while in HK

  • We (three friends) spent almost week in Dec 2013 at this nice place and still completely satisfied. Really cool district, HK's chinatown with all its dry weird stuff everywhere and close to Central and Kowloon. The best apartment manual I've ever read, very hospitable Brendan and his mum. In comparing with HK's cubicles, this flat is like villa with everything you need: hot shower and clean bathroom with two windows, comfortable bed and table for minutes of work.
Next time we'll try to book this place again.

  • The apartment was fine and the place around is nice - easy to move around with the numerous trams and taxi cabs. it is not too far from MTR station.
But the apartment has no main window to look out for rain or windy condition. One has to go to the bedroom to do so but we can't see the condition well as we face a building across the street.
Everything else is good - airpot for hot water, the fridge and the microwave.
The place is comfortable. It is quiet but safe. I would go back there. There is huge public park and play ground and the sea front across the highway beside the apartment.
    Thanks Brendan.

I was born in California and raised in Hong Kong. Went to college in the states and returned to Hong Kong a few years ago. I absolutely love travelling around the region but Hong Kong has always welcomed me home and I look forward to showing off my home town and sharing all the little insights and local specialities with all my guests!
