As much as possible or invisible if you want. I will try to meet with arriving guests and show them the area. Whenever guests need information or recommendations, I am always available via messaging or phone.
The Sheung Wan neighbourhood is ever changing and a fantastic mix of "old' and "new" Hong Kong. This apartment is located in the heart of Hong Kong's commercial, cultural and shopping districts and within short walking distance to the subway and HK Macau Ferry Pier. A few minutes walk away from the harbour front and the fantastic Sun Yat Sun Memorial Park and Public swimming pool over look the world famous Victoria Harbor.
The Sheung Wan MTR station is but 8 min walking distance away that takes you all over Hong Kong and Kowloon. There are also buses, trams, minibuses that run near the doorstep of the building on Des Voeux Road West Road and take you to every corner of the island and beyond.
Other Things to Note
Once you arrive in Hong Kong, everything is quite simple and all starts with a call from the FREE phones at the airport located in the hall immediately after you pass through baggage customs. There is also a Visitors Center there if you would like to pick up some maps, local travel guides, etc. to read on your way to the apartment. If you need a local SIM card, there is a 7-11 in the middle section of the main arrival hall where they see all types of SIM cards, I usually prefer the PCCW brand as it is the larges local operator.
This is a Strictly NON SMOKING Flat.
UPON ARRIVAL AT PROPERTY, ALL GUESTS MUST WAIT FOR ME AT THE FRONT GATE OUTSIDE OF THE BUILDING. BUILDING RESIDENTS WILL COMPLAIN TO PROPERTY MANAGEMENT IF THE LOBBY AREA INSIDE BUILDING IS BLOCKED. THANKS FOR YOUR KIND UNDERSTANDING FOR AN ENJOYABLE STAY.
Check in time is AFTER 12:30 pm. Make sure to contact us by phone at least 30 minutes prior to arrival such that we can meet you at the flat to hand you the keys and acquaint you to the surroundings. As this is a family business, please try your best to arrive at the apartment as early as possible. After 11:30pm as transport to the apartment is limited for us, we have to charge HKD150 to cover our taxi transport cost to and from the apartment. We are generally exhausted at the end of the day and we really would rather you arrive early and not have to charge this.
Guests must wait for us OUTSIDE the building upon arrival and not enter the building without us as this causes unnecessary misunderstandings with the property management and residents of the buildings.
Check out time is STRICT at 11:00 am. NO EXCEPTIONS or you will be charged for an extra full day. Our cleaning crew will arrive at 11:00 am to service the flat for the next guest, thanks for your cooperation.
Please help us save the environment by turning off electrical appliances when leaving the apartment or not using them.
Water heater needs to be turned off when not using. If it breaks due to prolonged time left on, you will not have any hot water for your stay and will be subject to expensive repair charges.
In the case that you have an evening departure flight:
Please note that you can check in your luggage at anytime during the same day as your flight at the Hong Kong Station Airport Express, which is only a 5 minute taxi or bus ride from the apartment. That way you would be free to explore the city on your last day, not having to worry about your luggage or rushing to the airport since you have already checked in, you will not have to be at the airport as early as everyone else.
All airlines flying from Hong Kong airport offer In Town check in, EXCEPT the following:

Brend was a fantastic host, everything was clear and easy. Check in was as simple as possible.
The flat was absolutely perfect! Everything I needed or wanted was inside, even trip guides, maps and suggestions of what to do locally.
The flat was quiet, very clean (and I am a picky person :) ), and spacious. I loved the decor and the internet was blazing-fiber optic fast! I wish I had this speed at home!
The neighborhood is just a fantastic highlight bonus!
The new MTR station is 1 minute walk away and buses and trams are out front, also within a minute walk.
There are so many restaurants and nice little traditional shops in the area. I chose Airbnb to get a better sense of Hong Kong as I am planning to move here and this flat perfectly showcased a fantastic Hong Kong neighbourhood and feel. I can't thank Brend enough. I've stayed at quite a few Airbnb properties and this is easiest one of my best experiences.
I stayed at this spot for a couple of nights while in Hong Kong.
The layout is nice and the apartment is a good size. I liked that it had a nice big desk and cute decor. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom/shower were big enough to fit my assortment of lotions and potions. Girls! HK humidity will make your hair a disaster. Anything labeled de-frizz or straightening will become your new best friend.
The kitchen is well stocked, if you’re up to cook something or you can try the infinite amount of restaurant options nearby. There’s also a fun tapas spot (La Paloma) if you walk straight up Wilmer towards Queen’s Road. There’s a binder in the apartment with recommendations on where to go.
I did not try heading toward the harbor, but spent most of my time walking up towards SOHO and Hollywood Road. It’s about a ten minute walk through all kinds of fun shops selling traditional Chinese herbs and food.
Brenden and his mom are both super nice and helpful and were always available for questions. Door guy always gave me a wave and a smile on the way out. It's on the first floor, so not a bad hike if you don't want to bother with the elevator. Overall I had a great stay!
Avoid like the plague. Very poor experience with both the flat and the host. The internet connection with shared with another flat so the bandwidth slows to near zero in the evenings so don't even think about trying to Skype. Very basic things like duvets, chairs, cables to connect TV to DVD player were just not adequately provided. We raised several issues with the host and the response was always aggressive questioning of why we needed it (a duvet in Winter? please..). The host still won't accept there is an internet issue despite being presented with SpeedTest results. Safety is also an issue so despite being assured it was safe for small children it isn't - no window grilles on fully opening windows and a washing machine that switched on with the door open...
Brendan's apartment was as specified in the listing. It was nice and clean, good location and plenty of room. I was left alone for the trip and fresh towels were left in periodically. I would recommend this to the single traveler, as it's not huge, but could reasonably suit a couple or a few friends.
Thanks to Brendan for a great stay.
Had a superb stay at Brendan's place for 5 days in December, everything was as described - great location, everything in the apartment was of a good standard, very clean, well stocked, great internet. It exceeded our expectations and I would definitely recommend this place to others.
Very nice quiet place to be in. Near bus stop and tram but need to change to get to MTR. Overall quite satisfied with the stay
