The Space

This cozy apartment comfortably accommodates a single traveler, a couple or a small family visiting Hong Kong. It has an open kitchen with electric cooker and microwave oven and (email hidden) has a full bathroom that has an enclosed shower with water heater. One big and comfortable real bed (Not a futon or pullout sofa) that sleeps 2 people and a double pullout sofa bed that also sleeps 2 people. Big flat screen TV with cable TV and a DVD player as well as ultra high speed wireless and LAN internet connection. But the best thing about this apartment is it's location. It is close to all sorts of transportation that take you to everywhere you would want to go to in Hong Kong. Located on the West side of Hong Kong in the Sheung Wan district, it is 5 minutes walking distance from the Sheung Wan MTR Station and 5 minutes from the foreign friendly district Soho (South of Hollywood Rd). It is only a few stops away from the Central MTR station on the Tram or bus and the neighborhood is super safe and friendly. Also, there is a 7 Eleven convenient store as well as a Laundry Place right around the corner.

**In the past I have borrowed out adapters for FREE to guests as a courtesy and convenience, however, too many have not been returned (over 50) and I can no longer keep up with restocking. Unfortunately, I can't provide these for free but if necessary, will sell them AT COST (@HKD20) instead. Sorry that this gesture failed.

Guests have access to:

Interaction with Guests

As much as possible or invisible if you want. I will try to meet with arriving guests and show them the area. Whenever guests need information or recommendations, I am always available via messaging or phone.

The Neighborhood

The Sheung Wan neighbourhood is ever changing and a fantastic mix of "old' and "new" Hong Kong. This apartment is located in the heart of Hong Kong's commercial, cultural and shopping districts and within short walking distance to the subway and HK Macau Ferry Pier. A few minutes walk away from the harbour front and the fantastic Sun Yat Sun Memorial Park and Public swimming pool over look the world famous Victoria Harbor.

Getting around

The Sheung Wan MTR station is but 8 min walking distance away that takes you all over Hong Kong and Kowloon. There are also buses, trams, minibuses that run near the doorstep of the building on Des Voeux Road West Road and take you to every corner of the island and beyond.

Other Things to Note

Once you arrive in Hong Kong, everything is quite simple and all starts with a call from the FREE phones at the airport located in the hall immediately after you pass through baggage customs. There is also a Visitors Center there if you would like to pick up some maps, local travel guides, etc. to read on your way to the apartment. If you need a local SIM card, there is a 7-11 in the middle section of the main arrival hall where they see all types of SIM cards, I usually prefer the PCCW brand as it is the larges local operator.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • The location of the appartement is great! Ding Ding, and bus stations are just around the corner; Central, the ferry terminal to Macau are in walking distance. Stayed there with 3 friends for 7 nights, it was quite tight and cozy. The appartment is windowless. For our purposes, to have a central, clean place to sleep, it was perfect! Also a great plus, Brendan replies almost instantly to messages, questions etc.

  • Living here made going anywhere in HK super easy. Very cozy and clean apartment. Brendan suggests us on how to get to the apartment before our trip and Victoria gives us directions on the first day we arrived. Very nice people! I feel that they are aware of not interrupting you, and they help you and consider for you when you need help. Communication and response are very quick.

  • It's a good deal by HK standards and if you are not planning to stay longer than a few days. The lack of natural light can be challenging in the mornings so you better set an alarm. I have not met Brendan but communication was good and efficient.

  • It was good to stay Brendan's flat. I've traveled singapore, malaysia before HK. so it was very cold compared to other countries. So first night the flat was very cold. I told this Brendan and the day after, he gave more blanket and heater. So I slept very well. And he was kind. It was good!

  • A cosy apartment that really just nice to fit my family of 3. A quiet place, great wifi connection, very clean, guide book/folder provided to assist us to plan our day. It's also accessible to public transport. Definitely will come back again.

  • The room is small but enough, actually cant even ask more because of the location and the price is very nice, brendan and jason is great host, even small things like tea, sugar, etc are provided, beside the microwave, refrigerator, stove, everything that you need to feel like home so you would have more "local experience" by staying there than hotel. Very nice experience, great host!

  • Quite a good experience! Although we didn't actually get to meet him, Brendan was a thoughtful host. He was prompt with his replies prior to the trip and had volunteered useful tourist info via email. Upon arrival at the apartment, we were even provided with a folio with relevant info such as recommended places to eat, fun activities to do, and how best to arrange for a city check in. The apartment was a good fit for us (4 pax in total) and we were very comfortable. Brendan also included a little case of DVDs in the room - a small touch which we appreciated!
A few small points to note though. As the apartment is located in an area that sells dried goods like lup cheong and dried cuttlefish, the apartment would have a slight smell if left unventilated during the day. The smell dissipated quickly enough when the aircon was turned on upon return. The apartment is also a tiny bit far from the nearest MTR but this meant that we managed to explore the area more and it was peaceful and quiet - perfect for a relaxing holiday!

  • Brendan/Veronica are both great host!

I enjoyed my stay at their apartment. Their apartment is clean nice and nearby the downtown area. It is only 10 minutes taxi/bua drive to get to causeway bay and only less than five minutes to central area

they have a what they so called a "blue book" whic is a very short guide book and I found it very uselful to guide me and my family during the trip at HK

the apartment is located at 1st floor so you do not have even bother to wait an elevator to go up just use the stair instead

last but not least! brendan helped me to book a cab foru way back to airport. thanks brendan/ veronica for your help during my visit at hK

I was born in California and raised in Hong Kong. Went to college in the states and returned to Hong Kong a few years ago. I absolutely love travelling around the region but Hong Kong has always welcomed me home and I look forward to showing off my home town and sharing all the little insights and local specialities with all my guests!
