Alessandro met us at the train station and showed us many useful hints as to how to get around and where to get shopping from on the short walk back to the apartment.
When we arrived, we were suprised by the size of the apartment and the living area was very large.
The apartment is very close to a tram bus (number 8) that takes you straight to Palazzo Venezia and also via Trastavere which is a great little place to hang out and bar hop or grab a great bite to eat.
I never met Paolo and Franziska but interacted with Alessandro whom managed the property. I had difficulty connecting with him initially as I did not have phone or internet service but once we finally did he was extremely pleasant and helpful. The apartment was as described, clean, open and wonderful. Buses are from the Trastevere Station area and quite easy. The metro is an easy 20 minute walk. Buy an all encompassing pass for all public transport for the day, 3 days or a month. Taxis are also pretty easy to come by. Uber works as well in Rome.
Kitchen was well outfitted to cook. I was without water for one night but this was because of a burst pipe in the street.
Be aware, there is a 2 Euro/night cash fee added on arrival (Rome law) and a 25 Euro check-in fee as well. This is not noted in the listing as far as I can tell and was a bit of a surprise though I was tired and didn't discuss this.
We did not meet the host but the agent was there to meet us. The flat was much as the listing (email hidden)e flat was well situated and easy to find close to the local rail station. Although not in the nicest part of Trastevere we did walk virtually everywhere from there. The balcony was lovley and we used it a lot. The only problem was the wash basin did not drain well and we had to use the kitchen sink.
