Floydilou was a great host! She was super flexible with our later than normal arrival time and provided us with some fantastic suggestions for where to find a great bite to eat in the Walkerville area. Super close to the train station and very clean and well decorated, you will not be disappointed:).
Even for a short week Floydilou made her place feel like somewhere to come home to at the end of long days. She was very thoughtful and provided a quiet/private space to rest. At the same time in perfect moments we could share and exchange interesting stories. Old Walkerville also had some great shops/cafes and a yoga studio to venture into. I was at a conference at the Ceasars hotel - the walk from Floydilou's to the hotel each morning was a nice short one along the water.
Floydilou is a great host! She is super nice and helpful. The accommodations were very clean, comfortable, and pleasant. It was our first airbnb stay and we are very glad we stayed with Floydilou.
Great little house in a fantastic location. Very clean. Floydilou was very sweet and gave us the 411 on Windsor. Would stay there again.
Floydilou's friend helped out a great deal, and I had a great night. The bed was very comfortable; there was a small TV right next to it. There were books to read, little touches in the bathroom, all very nice! The house is in the middle of Walkerville, which is an up and coming neighbourhood in Windsor. There's lots of great restaurants around, and a great new bookstore around the corner!
When I arrived in Bucerias it was storming and Floydilou was there to greet me which was great because I needed to get past the security guards. The building is very secure. My room was large with tile floors, a huge sliding patio door with a terrace, two beds and an attached bathroom. Yea! It was nice and bright and airy with a tropical-looking terrace that was great for just sitting and breathing in the fresh, ocean air. I also had full run of the rest of the condo (satellite TV in the living room) and a fair sized kitchen that I didn’t use – there’s just too many good restaurants to try. Floydilou keeps all of the sliding glass doors open so it’s nice and tropical with long billowing curtains bringing in the breeze. The condo terraces overlook a beautiful pool surrounded by banana palms.
The ocean is a short block away and was not at all crowded in October. Conveniently, the bus stop, grocery store and ATM are only 2½ blocks away. Bucerias is great for just walking around and peeking into old plantations and beautiful yards. Numerous art studios, galleries and restaurants are within a 10 minute walk. It is a long, long walk to the town plaza on the other side of the little river, though. Anything you want to know – just ask Floydilou. She’s got one of those bubbly type personalities that’s just pleasant to be around. I did wish the internet worked in my room rather than just the living room. Other than the internet glitch everything was wonderful and as described in AirBnB. I had a wonderful stay!
Floydilou was very quick in responding, friendly, communicative, and had some great suggestions in Windsor. Her place is charming and clean, full of delightful paintings, situated on a cute tree-filled street just off the main drag of Walkerville, which is full of shops and restaurants. Its a 10 minute walk to the VIA Rail station and maybe 15 minutes from the Casino along the riverwalk with fantastic views of downtown Detroit. She recommended the Gourmet Emporium for a drink and it did not disappoint with its very friendly staff and jazz musicians. There was also a hip Mexican joint nearby called Walkermole. I'd highly recommend her house if you find yourself in Windsor!
Very convinient place to stay. Good communication and arrangements to make our stay possible though she wasn't in town herself.
I have a great time at Floydilou's, I will definitely stay there again in the future.
