About this listing
A bargain for a single traveller. Cosy small single room. Great Wifi. Use of sitting room/kitchen etc.
Local home owner with lots of advice on what to see and do. Easy 10 minute walk to town or National Park.
Minimum stay 2 nights. Thank you
It's a lovely, clean, cosy home. The wifi is excellent. I can help you with any local bookings of bus tours etc. Killarney is just a beautiful place to visit and explore. You could spend months enjoying the walks, drives, views, swims, jaunting car rides, visits to castles, abbeys, ruins galore :) Plus there's a lot going on in Killarney even off peak season - Kerry Film Festival, Christmas in Killarney, concerts etc.
I am very flexible. I find that people are usually busy exploring outdoors and don't spend much time in the house. But you are free to watch tv in the sitting room, etc. Just ask really and we can facilitate eachother.
Interaction with Guests
As much as you like basically. I'm around for info and help if needed. If you are happy in your own space I will respect that. I am out and about a lot myself. If it's a fine day I'll be off to the lake or the sea or the National Park.
I love Muckross Rd. Its the best location in Killarney. You can stroll to town or walk in the National Park.
There are a few local buses that do a tourist circuit on a 'hop on, hop off' basis. They get to all the important sites including Muckross House, Torc Waterfall, Ladies View, Ross Castle, The Gap of Dunloe, Kate Kearney's Cottage. You can get a day pass or a 3 day pass. A tour guide talks about the sites as you travel.
Other Things to Note
I can easily book the Ring of Kerry bus tour or the Dingle & Slea Head day tour for you. They will pick you up at the door here :) The tours cost €25 each. You pay on the bus on the day.
Just be mindful of others. There is one shared bathroom so it is important to be considerate of others. Move quietly if it is late at night or very early in the morning. If you are last in please switch off the downstairs lights. I find 99% of people are really lovely and there's never a problem.
I am a local Killarney woman but I have lived in different parts of Ireland and the world during my teaching career. I love the National Park and all the fabulous walks here. The town has everything you could possibly need and there is simply nowhere more beautiful to live. You can stroll to town to dine out or shop around or relax and browse the internet after a day out and about. If the weather is right the best thing to do is to get out in the boat on the lake to explore hidden Killarney. You will be most welcome here. Make yourself at home for your stay. I like to make the most of life's opportunities.
