On Strawberry Creek at the "top of town," The Owl Pine cabin sits on our woodsy two-acre property that has remained undeveloped for almost 100 years. It's the best of both worlds w/ plenty of nature + close to civilization (burbling creek, rock paths, trees, birds, fresh dirt, mountain air, stars). Native rock fireplace, hot tub, eclectic art, record collection/player, games, books, Wifi. Ideal for 1-2 guests. Our main cabin and a guest camp share creek access. Walk to town. Insta @TheOwlPine

The space

The Owl Pine cabin in Idyllwild, Calif. (population 3,870 / elevation 5,413’) is on Strawberry Creek at the "top of town." The property is a mix of civilization and nature - it is not in the remote wilderness. The cabin sits near our full-time residence (the "Summer House" featured in the LA Times) and shares original rock pathways in the yard that meander down to the creek.

The property is a short walk to town down the street (or hike the creek trail from the yard) making it easy to support local restaurants and businesses since you can park your car for the stay/experience the entire town by foot.

The land is magical and features an unparalleled landscape of boulders, pine, oak, cedar, fir, redwood, manzanita, holly, etc. Discover seasonal roses, lilies, sweet peas, wild strawberries and more. Watch deer (a family of 2-3 regularly traverse property), squirrels, woodpeckers, jays, hawks, lizards, etc. Listen to the crunch of leaves as you walk original rock paths down to Strawberry Creek. Star gaze, collect pinecones, forage wild mint, smell the dirt, commune with nature, enjoy being alive. General adventuring encouraged (the cabin has an Adventure Pass for parking at local trailheads/lakes + a membership pass to the Nature Center).

- For special events/commercial photography/filming inquires - please send a note with project details for review prior to booking w/ potential details. An event fee beyond nightly rental is TBD.

Leave No Trace philosophy:
It's such a bummer to see trash in places you expect to see leaves, dirt, rocks, etc. Please be thoughtful while exploring the surrounding mountains and hike out your garbage when exploring the mountains.
