None, unless they want to meet us or they see us when we are taking the garbage / recycle up to the road. We live 4/10 of a mile away so can usually hop over, if desired, but otherwise, guests have full privacy.
Rural setting with an 8 acre greenbelt across the road behind the cottage. Quiet, one lane road. Very little noise or lights from traffic. Water views from homes all along the road. Views across the water of are lovely homes and beaches and forest.
Rural area, but there is public transit 1/2 mile away on the main arterial Cooper Point Rd.
This is a great place right on the water. I enjoyed my stay here very much. I did eat in a couple of times and found everything I needed in the kitchen. This lovely cottage is well stocked, quiet and comfortable. Thanks so much Debby!
A sweet little spot! Stayed here with my wife and two friends overnight. Debby was accomodating and easy to communicate with. We'll be back!
Debby is super responsive and their place seems to anticipate every possible need one might have while staying there... down to personalizing the food left for the guest, and having the woodstove setup so that the fire is ready to light. So sweet! The place itself is gorgeous, in the beautiful woods AND on the water (when the tide is up)... and a lot of chairs from which to enjoy it all, inside and out!
Our stay at the Beach Cottage was wonderful. The views are fantastic and you cannot get any closer to the water then this enchanting cottage. Debby was a gracious hostess and I would recommend this home for a peaceful stay.
Debbie's home is meticulously maintained and well organized. There is a beautiful view of the inlet.
She also had organic fruit waiting! Ideal AirBNB home!
This cabin is in a gorgeous setting and very thoughtfully appointed. The host was attentive and left detailed instructions. It has everything you'd want in a rustic setting, from a kitchen stocked for cooking and eating to supplies and tools for the wood stove. Would stay again!
My one caution for folks visiting in winter is that the cabin has minimal heating in common areas (bedrooms each had a wall unit that warmed the rooms OK). We spent most of our time sitting in front of the fire!
I will put up small signs near all the thermostats so future guests will be sure to find them. There are heaters in all the rooms. In the kitchen the thermostat is above the light switch and it operates the baseboard heater under the butcher block countertop and also operates the wall cadet heater in the dining room. I'm sorry you didn't find the thermostat for those two rooms. There is also a wall cadet high up on the wall in the bathroom with the thermostat on the face of the unit. The living room thermostat is to the right of the wood stove between the stove and the master bedroom door. In the master the thermostat is on wall next to the closet door. In the small bedroom, the thermostat is on the unit itself at the foot of the bed (watch the covers when using that one). Extra fire wood is in the garage. Kindling and newspaper in the wooden box on the front deck.
Beautiful and convient spot. The perfect Olympia location for our family. We enjoyed many treats on our trip including meeting Debby and her daughter, exploring the cove on foot and by boat, and snuggling up in the perfect coziness of the cottage. I even loved the super-fast internet to watch a little bit of Champions League soccer online.
Wonderful beach cottage. I would recommend Debby's cottage for your quiet getaway.
What a lovely spot! The cabin was simple but had everything we needed to be very comfortable. But the highlight was the big windows looking out on the water. In the evening we enjoyed sitting out on the deck--very peaceful!
Far enough from every thing and close enough also.
