This 1,600 sq feet live/work space is in the heart of SF Mission District. Sun drenched bedroom and kitchen, claw-foot tub, high ceilings, open studio/play space with hardwood floors, Building has a laundry room, freight elevator, rooftop garden and is close to excellent restaurants and shops.
The Army Lofts was once the Sears-Roebuck flagship store and was converted in the 70's (email hidden)/work building. Its an industrial space with a lot of charm and very comfortable, friendly neighbors-many of whom are artists, families and creative/tech. professionals. The space itself gets incredible sunlight throughout the day. Its very spacious, with multiple rooms to enjoy (my personal favorite is the kitchen which has a loft for sitting and drinking tea in the sun. There is a small indoor garden which you are welcome to pick herbs from for cooking. The large studio in the front is a multi-use space that is sometimes used for photo shoots. From April through September a small, 4 person start-up uses this space as an office from Mon-Fri 10-6pm.
There is an additional artist studio available to you that has a treadmill and a small trampoline as well as a 46" flat-screen TV with DVD player and Mac Mini to stream online videos.
The kitchen is fully equipped with All-Clad cookery, white Fiesta dishware, toaster oven, citrus press, juicer, soda maker and wood counter-top.
Price includes all utilities, internet, etc.
Clean linens and towels provided.
I won't be there but will definitely be accessible by phone or email. If I'm out of town I will have friend who lives close by available if need be.
Can't say enough good things about the neighborhood! The building is so close to EVERYTHING--some of the best restaurants in the city as well all kinds of boutiques along Valencia St. The weather is always 10 degrees warmer in the Mission then anywhere else in the city.
The closest Bart is 24th St which is 4 blocks/8-10 walk. Mission 14 bus is right around the corner plus multiple bus lines run through out the area. Highly recommend renting a bike, Valencia street has a bike line that runs the entire length. The building also has bike racks out front.

Jen was a particularly accommodating host and the space felt like home after 2 weeks. The comprehensive building guide, her restaurant recommendations, and the neighborhood info provided made for easy living.
Getting a hold of her was never an issue. Coordinating everything was smooth. On one occasion I locked myself out of the building and a friend came around within 15 minutes to let me in.
Her spacious loft with fully stocked kitchen surpassed my expectations. I can't say enough about the rooftop patio that made for a number of relaxing nights. I highly recommend this spacious artist loft to anyone considering it.
I have just stayed in Jens apartment for 2 weeks and had a great time. The apartment is located pretty neatly between Mission District and Bernal Heights and a lot of great places for food, coffee and shopping are within a short walking distance. It can ge a little noisy but nothing that you would not expect from staying (email hidden)ly neighbourhood in a big city.
Jen has been a great host, even so we never met. She has been very responsive via email and helpful all the way.
For everyone who is looking for an authentic place with lots of room, I can only recommend Jens place.
This was a great place to stay while visiting San Francisco for a few days. Close enough to the Mission to walk everywhere, spacious, and comfortable. I loved all the full length mirrors.
Jen left us a guide to the neighborhood, which was super helpful!
