This is pretty much like your private bedroom during the night. However we store things in this room and may need to use it during the day. Hence we ask that the futon-bed is folded daily. You are welcome to use any closet space and shelving.
If you are travelling to San Diego, then I can't think of a better location than North Park. It is close to everything, the beach, parks, downtown, shopping malls, the zoo, Balboa Park, airports etc etc. It is also pedestrian and bike friendly!
We live in an 835 sq. ft. apartment. There are three other apartments in our entire building. Our place is on the ground floor. We have a large shared yard.
We are located on a large quite road in a peaceful neighborhood. Parking on the road is easy during the day but during the night you may have to park further away on a neighboring road which surround us.
Our neighbors are very nice. We occasionally hear the toddler upstairs but noise is rarely an issue during the night.
SLEEPING: The double sofa is said by our guests to be exceptionally comfortable and it accommodates two people. Our futon bed is slightly smaller but also accommodates two. The third person can sleep on a large comfortable blow up bed which blows up in less than 3mins.
Towels and sheets are included. Just ask if you need a clean towel.
*Please use our kitchen to cook and save cash. (Fridge, freezer, mini-oven for quick heating, coffee, tea, pots, pans, baking ware)
* Make your self at home!
*There is no TV, but you can use our wireless internet on your laptop which is very fast. We also have a printer and desktop should you require access just ask we don't mind.
* Washing machine and drier cost 1.25 dollars to run and are located in the basement. (you will need quarters)
*If you smoke you may use the back yard for privacy.
*Use the bathroom whenever you like night or day.
WE WAKE BETWEEN 6-7AM. Then we have breakfast in the living-room. If you are in the separate bedroom you may keep sleeping if it suit's you as long as you like :)
COFFEE SHOPS: There are several awesome coffee shops within 20mins walking distance.
1) Twigs is a 10-15min walk. Comfy couches, fast wifi, great seating availability and work areas. Open late until 11pm.
2) Young Hickory. 15min walk. Good selection of beers & espresso. Very lively. Open till midnight.
Within walking distance there is a large supermarket called Sprouts and also Vons which are both just over 10mins walk from us. (Sprouts is like wholefoods but cheaper!)
*Large shopping malls are within 10-15 min drive from us.
*There are tons of places to eat out. Across the street is Taco Bell with drive-through mexican food. 5mins walk down El Cajon is a Russian and African restaurant. Across the street on El Cajon is an american diner.
* There is a great cheap gas station right next to us with delicious flavored coffee that you just must try!
All major bus routes are within a few minutes walking distance from our house on El Cajon Blvd.

* I have collected a lot of brochures from around town including maps. So let me know if you are interested in anything in particular!
I stayed here on way through San Diego. It was a nice place to be in a safe neighborhood with lots of parking. I felt the perfect level of balance between privacy and welcoming from the hosts.
the location was perfect for my needs. Galina and her family were very sweet.
Great family to stay with, very nice, great conversation. Bed was plenty comfortable, great value.
They were all very welcoming, nice people. Slept great and didn't feel rushed to leave in the morning. Would definitely stay there again.
great location, very warm and welcoming family with a very well-behaved child that is a pleasure to be around. very accommodating with my late, last minute arrival and when the late arrival meant there was no street parking, they gave me an even better place out back. internet speed was super fast and given run of the house if desires. highly recommended.
It's a kind and welcoming family. The house is not in the most organized shape, not because it was unclean, just because they have a very awesome little boy around.
Great place to stay. Very accommodating and made me feel at home. Thank you!
I enjoyed my stay very much with Galina and her family. They have a way of making you feel right at home. The sleeping arrangement was good, no frills but for the price it's comfy. I enjoyed exploring their neighborhood, which is a cool part of San Diego. WiFi very good. Good communication, mellow atmosphere, overall very easy.
Even small area, Galina makes up by warm welcome and complete comfort. She is extremely nice.
Galina and her family were awesome! They welcomed us with open arms and made us feel right at home. It was my first time in SD so Galina gave us maps and tourist guides and gave us some recommendations. Their place is very conveniently located; Close to freeway entrances, restaurants, and literally a 5-minute drive from downtown SD from the freeway. The room is perfect for 2 people (3 may be pushing it) and is equipped with shelves and a closet to hang your clothes in. Perfect for vacationers and people on business trips looking for an affordable place to stay. Would definitely recommend Galina to anyone looking to spend some time in San Diego. Hope to see you guys again soon!
