The Neighborhood

Being at the end of a private lane on upper Hot Springs Road places us away from any major road, freeway, or the train. A neighborhood walk can take you to a natural trail, the upper village of Montecito, or even down to the beach.

  • This quote says it best:

"Genuine hospitality...cannot be described, but it is immediately felt."
    -Hector Guimard

From the smallest details like bedside sweets from a local French Chocolatier, to the grand vistas of the San Ynez Mountains, every moment of our too brief stay was perfect.
Our hosts extended such generosity, we felt immediately at home and welcomed.
This beautiful cottage dressed in French decor is charming, private, and invites a restful stay. Our mornings began sipping fresh brewed coffee while watching the sunrise through a eucalyptus forest.
Normally we spend so much time in our cars, it was a delight to be in walking distance to quint shops, local dining, and spectacular hiking trails, though we found ourselves perfectly content relaxing in our Montecito retreat reading books from it's extensive library.
Now that we're home and back to reality, we've already begun planning a return visit to our sanctuary in Montecito.

  • Without a doubt, the most beautiful place I have stayed! A beautiful guest house which is bigger than it looks in the pictures. Everything is seen to with so much care and attention, I loved it. Location is really easy to get to the beach or up into the hills. Lovely hosts. A really special spot

  • This guesthouse is the ultimate in comfort and privacy. Located in the best part of Montecito, you enter to a beautiful gated property and arrive to a large and very well appointed guest house. The hosts went to great lengths to make sure my stay was perfect, leaving a beautiful basket of fruit and homemade baked goods. When they found out I was there to work and write, they even brought in a great chair so I was comfortable while working. I slept like a rock, the linens and bed were excellent. Nothing but praise, I wish I had stayed longer. I would definitely return and highly recommend.

  • My husband and I stayed at this beautiful guest cottage to celebrate our first anniversary as we'd gotten married in Montecito the year prior and wanted to relive the memory. Knowing this, our hosts went above and beyond and left us a bottle of champagne and delicious local chocolates to indulge in. It was completely unexpected and entirely gracious of them. Additionally, they set up a breakfast bar in the room with coffee, fruit, and pastries, so we had the experience of staying at a true bed and breakfast.

The cottage is immaculately clean and well-appointed with gorgeous furnishings. The property is set back off the road, so it's also very quiet and peaceful -- you'll feel like you've stepped into your very own countryside getaway.

I can't recommend this location or the hosts enough. My husband and I will definitely be back!
