When Dan and I arrived at Kim's farm in Penngrove we were pleasantly surprised to meet not only the perfect host (gentle, warm knowledgeable and spiritual) but a great jewelry designer. Her house is amazing, decorated with items she collected in her extensive trips to Asia (Indonesia and Thailand in particular, but she lived in India for many years as a textile designer). If you ask she will share stories of her many travels. There is so much to look at, all around the house, you will be happy to just hang out there or in the garden. If you are itching to go somewhere you can check out the winery just up the road.
She has chickens (far away enough, you will not hear them at all), which means fresh eggs in the morning for breakfast!
Staying there was a treat and we hope to be back again!
Kim is an amazing host! She has a beautiful house, across from a vineyard, and away from city noise. Her house is located in proximity to many wineries, which made it very convenient for us to take wine tours in the area.
She made us a delicious breakfast from fresh farm eggs, and the tomatoes that she grows in her yard. We had a very cozy, private and romantic guest house, with access to her kitchen and yard. Our room was clean, quiet, and very well furnished. We also recommend visiting her little art studio. Overall an A+ experience.
Kim was a fabulous host. Made us feel right at home, even with our little baby. What a beautiful sanctuary she has created. Beautiful home and gardens - very peaceful setting - we loved walking around the garden being with the wild life and diversity of plants. Most comfy bed ever. The house is decorated - out of this world. The only thing I didn't like about the stay is not being able to stay longer.
It's a rare and wonderful treat to discover an amazing space, but the beauty of Airbnb is that occasionally you discover even more... a place with a soul. This is the essence of the Willow Spring Retreat, a window into the amazing soul of an amazing person. Kim has collected artifacts from all over the world and created a home that feels like a portal into something exotic, warm & wonderful. It feels like another world that you could endlessly explore, and she's integrated so much of herself into the space that it's hard not to feel as connected to Kim as you are to the house itself. The room was stunning, with the highlight being the bathroom. Her special touches made it feel as much like a true Bed & Breakfast as any we've stayed at, including a wonderful breakfast with farm fresh eggs. The town of Petaluma just down the road is well worth the short trip, but once you check in it's hard to leave. If you have the pleasure of staying, don't forget to check out Kim's amazing jewelry and artistry, as we left with more than memories.
