This quaint and comfortable studio apartment is located in a Victorian carriage house at the edge of historic Pacific Grove. It fits two, has a peek of Monterey Bay, and is up a quiet side street just 2 blocks from town, and 4 blocks from the ocean's edge.
Come stay in a lovely junior suite studio usually occupied by an artist in a beautiful neighborhood near the seaside. I vacate and you have the place to enjoy a quiet retreat. The studio is fully equipped, yet very compact and can only comfortably accommodate 1 or 2 people.
The flat is on the 2nd floor at the top of a flight of stairs. The front patio has a place to sit and enjoy the view looking down over the picturesque neighborhood with a slice of Monterey Bay as the backdrop. Inside you are greeted by a light and airy interior full of orginal period details. The main sitting area is separate from the sleeping quarters which fits a comfortable full-size bed. There is a full bath with a 3/4 claw-foot tub, and an apartment-sized full kitchen complete with gas stove, oven, and a small refrigerator. The back porch has a small dining area overlooking the yard. There is reliable, fast wifi and a flat screen TV with a DVD player. I provide clean bed sheets and towels.
*Important* One wall is shared with the neighbors, and since this house was originally built in 1906 it's definitely noticeable when someone else is home. So, please keep the noise to a minimum after 10 pm.
The central location of this studio on the Monterey Peninsula is one of its best features and makes a great jumping off point to explore the surrounding area. A few minutes walk will take you to an assortment of restaurants and shops in town, as well as the scenic coastline of Pacific Grove! Lovers Point Park, Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row are all within 1 mile. The MST bus line regularly stops at the bottom of the street. By car, it's only 7 min to the Pebble Beach Gate and 17 Mile Drive, 10 min to downtown Monterey and Fishermen's Wharf,15 min to downtown Carmel, 30 min to Carmel Valley village, and 40 min to Big Sur.
This is an excellent spot to relax and unwind while soaking up the stunning scenery!
I'll be close by and reachable by text message or phone, and would be happy to provide any recommendations while you visit.

Cecelia made our trip to Pacific Grove and Monterey wonderful. Her location was just a few blocks from the Ocean, walking distance to the Aquarium, and a stone's throw from a number of charming places to eat. She had great suggestions and recommendations, and her home was so comfortable, cozy, and clean. One of the best weekend getaways we've ever had. Thank you Cecelia!
Charming! This space is even cuter in person than in the already cute pictures. The space has everything you would need for a getaway and it was SUPER CLEAN. Cecelia was easy and quick to communicate with. The location can't be beat as you can walk to downtown PG and quickly drive anywhere in the peninsula.
This little nook in Pacific Grove is the perfect spot for a single, double or couple with an easy kiddo. We would love to return to this cozy spot in PG. Cecelia and her home are a real Airbnb winner!
Cecilia's place was absolutely perfect for a two-person weekend getaway. It was perfectly clean and homey, and Cecilia had lots of special extra touches. There are tons of cute restaurants in Pacific Grove within a few blocks, and a great ocean view is right down the street.
This was our first AirBNB experience as guests, and Cecilia set the bar high!
Amazingly cute and within walking distance to the coast and great little restaurants. Parking was easy and this is the place to book the next time I come to Monterey! She had all the necessary brochures out for Big Sur and exploring the area. I'm so glad we were able to enjoy the area in such a beautiful and comfortable spot.
This is my fourth stay at an Airbnb and Cecelia's Getaway ranks in my top two!!! Super clean, well appointed and if you want a nurturing, charming place to rest and relax this is your best bet!
Outstanding location - close to town and the water with walking and cycling paths.
Cecelia is a very responsive and helpful hostess. She clearly cares about making ones stay the best possible.
I'm coming back again and again!!
I highly recommend staying in Cecilia's studio. She was quick to respond when booking and when inquiring about check-in/check-out. The studio is in a perfect location in PG with walking distance to the local restaurants and shops downtown as well as the Ocean and Cannery Row. We loved the cozy style, cleanliness and treats Cecilia left for us!
We would book Cecilia's place again.
Staying in this cozy little studio was an absolute dream! Wonderful location, nice neighborhood, includes all utilities you would possibly need (wifi, towels, bath essentials, kitchen stuff, tea..). I highly recommend staying here if you are in the area; my boyfriend and I took a nice stroll to cannery row the morning after we stayed and saw the sun rise as we walked over. It was truly spectacular. Cecelia's quick responses and wonderful amenities were helpful as well. There are so many cute books around her studio I didn't know where to start! The studio also did not have any speck of dust, I felt the need to take off my shoes because of how clean it was. I am so inspired by her layout and decorations of the rooms - wish I could have a place like this to call mine!
So enjoyed Cecelia's apartment! Location is perfect to all sorts of activities-- Pacfic Grove eateries, strolling, Monterey etc. We drove to the Big Sur for a day of hiking and were so happy to return to Cecelia's cozy abode after a long, happy day of outdoors. The brochures were helpful to us as we discerned where to eat and the bottle of wine was such a nice touch! Would certainly return!
Cecelia's apartment is in an awesome location of Pacifc Grove. It's
a few hundred feet from cute shops and restaurants as well as a short drive from several beaches, 17 Mile Dr, and the aquarium.
It's a small place, but comfortable for a couple. It's as Cecelia describes it in her profile. My favorite thing was her book collection. I scanned three or four great art/architecture titles as the night wound down.
The only thing is that there is no wireless in the apartment. Cecelia didn't say there was and this wasn't a huge deal (the book selection kept me occupied), but it's worth mentioning.
I'd definitely recommend this place!
Mark- There is wifi actually... I state that in the house description and provide the password in the reservation confirmation. I should probably post it inside the apartment as well to avert any confusion. Please feel free to contact any AirBnb host during your stay in the future if you feel anything is missing. I would've gladly sorted that out for you. :)
On the flip side, I'm glad you enjoyed my books!
Cheers! And you guys are welcome back any time!
