Such a nice place to stay!! I'm sure that it's better than that you imagine. The location is good to move to downtown of Bangkok by taxi, and the building is very interesting. The host family is the best part of this guesthouse. They are all very kind. I and my family never forget thier smile.
Wow! This is SUCH a great spot. The first thing you notice is the design: everything is just perfectly planned. Big big bathtub, balcony, rooftop terrace. And everything -- just so. (the owner's brother is an architect... I need to hire him when I get my own house!). The neighborhood is fabulous, too -- okay, it isn't close to the metro or skytrain, but not much in Bangkok is, especially the historic center. But there are metered taxis everywhere, and they rarely cost more than $2 or $3 (USD). And here, you don't get the common curse of tourist neighborhoods in SE Asia -- "hey mister, you want tuk-tuk?". Just regular people going about their daily business, not even noticing you, let alone trying to rip you off! Anyhow, the owner is super-helpful and friendly -- he helped me get some pants hemmed, and gives every guest a couple maps with suggestions on where to go (the best food in Thailand is always from little carts and in markets). But the biggest proof of what an awesome place this is, is: with a thousand choices in Bangkok, I'm right back here a week later!
