The space
Escape to the woods and spend a few nights close to nature, just a short walk from the sea.

Our small woodland campsite sits within the private 17th-century country estate of Carreglwyd on the north coast of Anglesey. Hidden amongst the trees and only a 15 minute walk from the beach, close to Church Bay it’s a peaceful place to slow down and enjoy the quieter rhythms of the natural world.

Our two shepherd’s huts, Fern and Bluebell, offer a cosy and comfortable base for your stay. Each hut has a double bed with fresh linen provided, a bathroom, and cooking facilities and an outdoor firepit for relaxed evenings by the fire. The huts are designed to feel warm, simple and welcoming , a place to return to after a day exploring the coast or countryside.

The huts are set in a quiet corner of woodland, each with privacy, giving guests space to relax and unwind. In the morning you’ll wake to birdsong drifting through the trees, and in the evening the woods settle into a calm stillness beneath dark skies. It’s the kind of place where you can light a fire, sit outside with a cup of tea, and simply enjoy being surrounded by nature.

From the campsite it’s an easy walk down to the coast, where you can explore beautiful beaches, rocky coves and the Anglesey Coastal Path. This stretch of coastline is known for its wildlife and sea birds, and it’s not unusual to spot seals along the shore or see birds wheeling over the cliffs. The nearby beaches are wonderful for swimming, beachcombing and exploring rock pools, or simply sitting and watching the sea.

The site is run as a small eco campsite with a focus on keeping things simple and low impact. Facilities include composting toilets, showers and fresh drinking water from our borehole. We try to tread lightly on the land and work with the natural surroundings rather than against them.

Carreglwyd itself is a historic estate with deep roots in the landscape of Anglesey. The surrounding woodland, farmland and coastline support a rich variety of birds, insects and wild plants, and the area is well known for its natural beauty.

Because the campsite is small and tucked away within the woodland, it feels peaceful and unhurried. Guests often comment on the sense of calm here ,away from busy roads, crowds and bright lights. At night the skies can be beautifully dark, making it a wonderful place for stargazing.

Whether you’re looking for a quiet coastal break, a base for exploring Anglesey, or simply a place to spend a few days outdoors, our woodland campsite offers a simple and welcoming place to stay.

10 mins walk off the coastal path, its a great stop over exploring Anglesey.

Close to the Wave crest cafe for wonderful icecream and lunches, the Lobster Pot and Church Bay inn for evening food. Theres a village shop 15mins walk away selling supplies too! 25 Mins drive from Holyhead, the perfect stop over before the ferry to Ireland.
