Hong Kong is frequently described as a place where "East meets West", reflecting the culture's mix of the territory's Chinese roots with influences from its time as a British colony. Hong Kong balances a modernised way of life with traditional Chinese practices. Concepts like feng shui are taken very seriously, with expensive construction projects often hiring expert consultants, and are often believed to make or break a business.
No smoking in the flat. Smoking is permissible outdoors on the private roof upstairs.
Please be respectful of the wooden furniture (i.e. use coasters for wet glasses /objects), art and glass mirrors.
Air-conditioning may be left on around the clock but please do not open windows at the same time.
Thanks and enjoy your stay!
About the Host, Kaline
I'm a native Pacific girl and am happiest living seaside. I have been working in Asia for over three years based in Hong Kong before very recently relocating to Shanghai. I never fail to enjoy returning into this packed, frantic, sultry, colorful and hilly island that I am still proud to call home....and am now enjoying the chance to explore a whole new neighborhood of winding tree-lined roads and French bakeries and commuters on bicycles in the shadow of Shanghai's skyscrapers.
I love hosting friends and new visitors to Hong Kong and Shanghai. I was initially an accidental Airbnb-er and being an avid traveller myself, have been impressed time and time again with the spirit of this community...I would be thrilled to share anything I know about these cities or region with you!
