Hong Kong is frequently described as a place where "East meets West", reflecting the culture's mix of the territory's Chinese roots with influences from its time as a British colony. Hong Kong balances a modernised way of life with traditional Chinese practices. Concepts like feng shui are taken very seriously, with expensive construction projects often hiring expert consultants, and are often believed to make or break a business.
The apartment has a great location and clean. The only drawback is the 7 floors you have to climb to get there after a long day sightseeing. Kaline is very helpful if you have any questions. Highly recommended.
Great apartment in a central location of Hong Kong - it is quite close to the escalators and lots of bars/cafes and restaurants just around the corner. The apartment itself was bright and airy and had a comfy bed. Kaline also stocked the fridge with water and other drinks which was quite handy. The only drawback was the 7 flights of stairs. Kaline was a great host with excellent advice and instructions. I would stay here again, and can recommend to others.
Best airbnb experience so far! ..... Kali's place is in a great location, only one block from the mid-level escalators and lots of different restaurants and bars around. The apartment has everything you need and the fridge is stocked with different drinks for when you arrive and during your stay. The 7 flights of stairs are a great workout when you have been shopping all day, I know I lost some calories!
Kaline was such a great host, she replied to all my e-mails and gave me some great advice on shopping, eating and general sightseeing activities. Great Great Great!
Kaline was a fantastic host. Lots of detailed instructions, restaurant suggestions and she even met us off the train to deliver the key. The apartment was fantastic as well, right in the heart of the hippest area of HK. Strongly recommended. One word of warning though, there are seven flights of stairs to get up to the apartment, so when you leave for the day make sure you have not forgotten anything!
We really enjoyed our stay at Kaline's flat. She was super helpful and friendly and gave us loads of restaurant recommendations. She was also very accommodating when we wanted to change our reservation at the last minute. The location is brilliant, close to Central Station. Jocelyn was lovely as well, who came to tidy up every few days. The fridge was stocked with water and beverages which was a nice bonus. I would highly recommend Kaline's flat for anyone visiting Hong Kong.
Kali was a fantastic host - I'm just sorry that we didn't get a chance to meet. Her apartment is wonderfully situated in the middle of lots of restaurants and boutique shops. It's also close to the escalator/travelator that connects soho and central.
The apartment is very clean and bright. There are 7 flights of stairs to climb so be warned if you have a ton of luggage but it's a great workout. I stayed for a week and she had someone come in after a few days to restock and change linens. She also responded very quickly to have a burned out lightbulb replaced. AND she stocks the fridge with water and other drinks which was very much appreciated after a hike up the stairs.
I had a great time in Hong Kong and Kali's place was a great home base.
This was my first Airbnb stay and it was perfect. Absolutely clean and comfortable. Kaline and Jocelyn, her helper, was very helpful. Jocelyn met me upon my arrival. She even waited for me downstairs so that I was certain to find the place and then helped me with my luggage up the flights of stairs. Kaline and Jocelyn were easily reached for any questions. The location is great and very easy to get to Central station. There are plenty of places to eat, drink, and get supplies near by. Very close to escalators to get you up the hill from Central. I would definitely stay there again. Love Hong Kong! Thanks Kaline!
Kaline apartment in HK is very well located and well equipped. As mentioned by other AirBnb members there is 7 floors to get there, this is not an impossible task but can be hard for some. If you do HK Foodie Tour you will notice that the apartment is located right in the middle of some of HK best and truly original food outlet. The apartment is also close to subway stations and Honk Kong elevators are close by, this is a good thing especially when you are walking up to the 7 floors. All and all if we go back to Hong Kong we would certainly stay back in Kaline apartment.
Fantastic apartment in a wonderful neighborhood and Kali was uber helpful. There was even wine and water in the fridge when I arrived! Tried to book her place again, but it was full. I plan to stay here whenever I'm in Hong Kong, and hopefully will be able to meet Kali in person one day. Thanks!
Kali was a very helpful and friendly host. Unfortunately, we couldn't meet her during our stay, but she had a helper who regularly cleaned the apartment, helped us with the luggage and was reachable by phone. Also, Kali stayed in contact with us throughout the two weeks. Her responses were always quick and informative.
The apartment looked like in the photos which were uploaded on airbnb and everything was as described except for the stove which sadly didn't work. We told her immediately after we tried it out on the first night, but she didn't manage to get it fixed during our stay, so we alternatively had to use the microwave or small oven. I'm glad that we stayed with Kali, although I am a little disappointed that the stove issue didn't get solved because I like to cook.
Another great asset of the apartment was its convenient location. It's so easy to move around and get to tourist attractions. The only downside might be some noise from the nearby bars on weekends and overpriced restaurants. You should check out local diners or chain restaurants!
All in all, we had a great time there and it was definitely the right choice! Kali is simply great and her apartment too!
