Interaction with Guests
Owner is available to share history of Tucson or orientation to the neighborhood as desired by guest.
The very oldest part of Tucson was the Presidio, or "lookout", (now called "A" Mountain) for the Apaches, the army, the missionaries, the explorers, the conquistadores, and all who came through the "Old Pueblo". Our place enjoys this perspective of the lookout in the heart of Tucson.
The trolley will stop nearby in a few months. We are in walking distance from downtown, with buses to all parts of Tucson. There is ample off street parking. There is close proximity to I-10, the U of A, and about 20 minutes from Tucson International Airport.
Other Things to Note
There is a 2 hour audio tour of the history of Tucson with 100 photos of historic homes and locations of the Arizona Territory and the early Tucson Pioneers.
No smoking indoors, common respect and courtesy.

Great location for my conference which was at the Marriott Starr Pass. Quiet, view of downtown, close to hiking trails. Suggest you have a vehicle to access, conveniences are close by.
The condo really could use a cleaning before guests arrive. The floors have never been swept or cleaned, food in fridge, toiletries in bathroom. Fridge required a bowl for the leaking water. You need to lift the outside door upward to close and lock, the door know does work even though it is wobbly and dented. Could use a working outside light, with the many levels of uneven ground, might be conducive to falling on the stones and would be helpful to get the key in the lock on door at night. Shower is VERY small and really could use a new shower head but there was water.
Would be more attractive to stay again if the place was clean, kitchen dishes, cutlery, etc was clean and some decent cups, mugs, perhaps a microwave?
Never met Norm, talked once on the phone, quick responding both with e-mail and phone, appreciated this.
Great location- short walk to the streetcar, which takes you to downtown, 4th ave and university. The market that you catch the streetcar at is amazing! Cute place, nice patio to relax on. Shower is small but clean. Would definitely stay here again!
We loved our stay in the apartment above Tucson. Norm was friendly and flexible and we were able to move in about 11 am on our arrival day. The apartment is a comfortable space in an older home. The deck is fabulous and we spent each evening out there watching the mountains turn colors in the sunset light. The sunrises were fabulous too. The location was perfect for us, about 1 mile from some great gem shows, a bike path and reasonably close to the downtown and university. There was a great place to lock our bikes outside and plenty of parking, even when the house was full. The historic neighborhood was interesting for us to explore. We were about 1/2 hour from both National Parks, and the Santa Catalina trails as well. We will definitely stay with Norm next time we come to Tucson.
Truly is a nice cozy little place with a great view. I stayed the entire week and enjoyed my time in Tucson. The shower is a little small but everything was still very clean.
The apartment was just as described in the listing. The pics were great to give a good sense of the amenities. The picture of the view of Tucson was spot on and was beautiful both in the daytime and at night. Norm was easy to contact by phone and gave excellent directions and details about our arrival. I called him again as we were leaving and he was available for departure instructions.
I booked this unit for my parents to stay on their first visit to Arizona. I live close by, and really love the neighborhood this listing is in. The view is AWESOME- you see the sunrise over the Rincons and the sunset light up the Catalinas to the north. Seriously, one of the best views you can possibly get from a place that is so close to downtown! Even though we did not take the streetcar into downtown, one could easily walk down to the Mercado and hop on if they were not super familiar with where to go to park downtown or didn't want to bother. It was a quiet, safe neighborhood, but be warned that many travelers coming into town are surprised by how loud and frequent the train running through downtown can be. My parents solved this easily with a pair of earplugs, and then slept soundly through the night. There is a beautiful patio and grill so you can take full advantage of the fantastic view of town. The apartment itself was very clean and comfortable. My parents really loved it. It had working wifi, a full kitchen, a big tv, and two windows (one in the bedroom and one in the living room) that looked out over the mountains and city. Even as a Tucsonan myself, I was jealous of the view from this place! It is also very close to the trail up A-Mountain and Tumamoc Hill (both popular walking spots) and a 10 minute drive from Starr Pass hiking trail, which is a must-do if you are visiting and want to get a feel for the beauty of the low desert without driving far out of town. It is also a 10 minute drive from the heart of newly-revitalized downtown, full of shops, restaurants, and music venues. I could not have picked a better place for my parents to stay, Norm was very friendly and accommodating, and the price is such a bargain compared to hotels in the area! If this place is still available the next time my parents come back, they will definitely be staying there again. Thanks Norm!
